@@davedarius7346depends all on build quality. I had an lg optimum that ran android 2 that was unstoppable. Dropped from roofs, in water it only ended up in the trash after I gave it to my sister and the speaker died so she threw it out😂 but then again they don't make phones like they used to.

It depends entirely on the impact angle. A phone can drop from what you'd think is the shortest height and be shattered, or fall from an impressive height and be mostly fine

Personally I'm all about the thin cases now. Along with dex compatibility, I already like to run larger phones for the usual perks and additions you get inside a bigger phone (battery, camera abilities, etc) so having a thin case ensures I can place the phone properly where needed. Plus my civic's cubby just barely fits my S21 ultra with the case I have on rn, would hate to have a whole inch of rubber all around it for protection lol

Something to keep in mind is that he dropped the phones flat, so the force of the impact was distributed more evenly. If it had landed on an edge, or God forbid a corner, then you have more chances of the phone cracking, even within the case. Cool to see that both of the cases do their job pretty effectively, but I do think that you should be wary of thin cases still, because most of the time, I personally do not believe that the corners would be safe with those cases.

Remember, just because the phone with the thick case survived, doesn’t mean (being a crazy person with -100 in and buying a motorcycle unless you have financial problems or want to save money which I respect) a strong helmet will save your life.

Oh and the thick one actually has a built-in screen protector, unlike OtterBox's latest defender series who doesn't have it unless you are looking at the cases for the iPhone 7/8/SE2/SE3.
