In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. Depends on circumstance, but generally falls under the charge when someone uses "violent, threatening, disorderly or insulting language which is designed to generate feelings of anger, outrage, disgust or resentment in an ordinary and reasonable person from amongst the members of our community." TL;DR what you get charged for when mouthing someone off in public, randomly swearing at others for no good reason and/or trying to pick a fight. Make what you will of that.

I've got 3 questions? Do any Australians ever go to Bondi beach? Wouldn't it be a good idea for the police to man a police kiosk on the promenade? Not just as a deterrent or to advise people but to be close to help too.l Are there any lockers near the beach to rent?

1) Bondi is a massively touristy and downright awful beach, in the eyes of most Australians. While people do go to Bondi, most go to other beaches. 90% of our population lives on the coast, so everybody knows where the *good*, quiet and appealing beaches are. Bondi is known to be full of thieves, people, and rubbish. When you're a beach-dweller, none of these things are appealing. So, not really, nobody with taste anyway. I mean, obviously enough people for it to always be crowded, but nah there are many better places people go. 2) There are quite a lotta police round that region, but simultaneously, Bondi's in Sydney. Sydney has its fair share of crime, considering it is the most populous city in Australia. Police cannot really afford to focus so much energy on the beach of Bondi alone - especially since there are, of course, many other beaches, and a whole city to monitor. But, the police are still relatively fast when they need 'em down there, could of course be better, but this sorta thing's just bound to happen at a tourist spot like Bondi. 3) I think there may be now, it's been a long time since I've been to Bondi so I cannot remember, but I can see why some people wouldn't want to use those as well - putting your belongings in a place so far from ya you can't even see it from the sea, locked or not, doesn't seem all too great to many people. Don't get me wrong, I don't know why you'd go for a swim and not leave your stuff with somebody, but I can see why people wouldn't be too keen about lockers neither.

Bondi Beach is a good illustration of just how multicultural modern Australia is- especially in the big cities like Sydney and Melbourne. It would be less than ten percent tourists most of the time. The tourists are well over represented on these videos because Australians are among the world's best swimmers (that's why we do well at the Olympics in swimming) - and literally everyone growing up here learns how to swim from an early age. These tourists don't know the dangers. I live in Sydney.

If I'm overseas, there's no way I'm taking my passport, all my cash etc onto a beach. That's just saying "hey come steal me". Surely this stuff can be left behind somewhere???

@@67hutch they seem young, like backpackers, so they are probably staying in hostels, not hotels. It’s no safer leaving your bag unattended in a room you share with 5 strangers. I guess you could just rent a locker at a train station though. Probably a lot safer.

@@madisonjuell1296 pretty positive Bondi itself has multiple places with locker rentals itself also, so really can't bring myself to feel bad for any of them that bring important/expensive shit and leave it on the beach unattended.
