Just orderd this for my bday to myself 😆 my desk top was waking up way too much space. Only really used my pc for Netflix or stream console gameplay to twitch xD so figured id save on space and wire by getting is :D will arrive sept 10th! Cant wait to try this laptop! Specs will be so much better then what i had 😅
The temperature drops by roughly 10° on both CPU and GPU if you place it on a cooling pad. I tested it with hogwarts legacy on high settings, GPU ran at 68° without a cooling pad. With a cooling pad, my average temperature is 56° on high settings. Other games gave me roughly the same temperature drop with a cooling pad. It also depends on the settings in MSI center as the fans do run high if not set right. The MSI AI Engine learns quite fast and regulates fan speeds after playing a few games, so that it does not have to run at high speeds all the time while gaming. It may be a cheaper laptop, but it's not a bad investment. All and all I personally find it a great laptop for both gaming and work.
Great info! I'm thinking about this as a potential laptop software development, and of course for gaming. It seems like a good priced, high power gaming laptop.
Was thinking of getting this for school(college), with the ability to run a little bit of gaming on the side. Near as I can tell this thing would be able to handle all of it. Since it'll mostly be school, then it should be more than enough. Liking the design, too. Pretty clean look.
I got this laptop based on your review. So far I am impressed by it exceeded my expectations. Can so far also recommend this outjie.💻Oh best to get a cooling pad aswell the laptop for me atleast got quite hot when gaming.🔥
So you're reviewing one with an intel i7 CPU. would you say the 15's with the Ryzen 5 are better? If you've had the chance to get your hands on one/just know from experience? I just bought one with a Ryzen 5, and RTX 4060. :) hence why I'm asking
Generally Intel is still best on mobile. The Ryzens have lower TDP on multi threading but also worse performance. For gaming only they are quite similar at that level
Hello, Thank your for the video. I just bought one of these. The touchpad moves slightly down and makes a little sound when I touch it, it feels loose and low quality. Does yours do this as well?
hi i’m wondering about the games and heating. Does it run well for high fps? like roblox, valo, and etc also does it lag while streaming? ex streaming and opening valo at the same time and opening some other tabs like youtube.
Is it a good laptop to play Disney Dreamlight valley and sims 4? Because I have a MacBook and there are a lot of issues with gaming so I am looking for a laptop like you have in this video. But I’m not really sure about it.
Depends on what you need tbh? It's got a really good processor but you might want to get something a bit bigger if you need more battery life on the go
hello i bought this laptop about 1.5 months ago. But i only have the RTX3050 version. Are there any options in the MSI bios you recommend changing to give a performance boost?
@evetechtv thanks my friend. I've tried changing the Max core frequency, turbo performance boost mode etc in win11 advanced power options menu. The CPU just does not respond to any %. The only thing it respond to is turbo boost enabled or disabled.
@@kaitoyuki2762 hi, it is definetly worth the value for money. I have the rtx3050 version and it is still powerful enough to run all my games in 1080p. If you can afford $200-$300 more go for the rtx4050 version
Acer Nitro V? Can't really comment as we have never reviewed those units so can only suggest stuff we've used xD sorry I can't be more helpful but good luck!
Yea I think it comes down to build quality and price. I got the MSI for a budget price. The MSI also has a 120hz display. I'm unsure about the Acer Nitro V. I think also a good quality RAM is another factor. The thin 15 MSI I got has 2x4GB @3200mhz. Can't remember the brand of RAM. MSI has its own OEM BIOS with hidden advanced features. It's got a plethora of OC options though I haven't figured it out yet.
@@kaitoyuki2762 i have the rtx 3050 version and handles Ghost of Tsushima pc very well about 90-120 fps with dlss on medium settings with low textures.
The acer would be better for school/work or non-demanding video playback. The MSI thin 15 would be better for decent gaming and maybe some light rendering.
Bought it two days ago. Out the box, it easily maintains 240 fps in creative, can 300+ on 1v1 maps. In battle Royale it holds 200 quite easily without many stutters.
Bro i bought a msi laptop last day. I'm a noob because it's my first laptop. My question is what percentage should i start to charge my laptop? And should I fully charge it at 100%?
Hi, this particular laptop will stop charging once it reaches 100% and then it very lightly charge until you use it and trickles down to 80%85% battery it will begin to charge again to 100%. You can tell it's charging when the little White colored LED on the left side lights up. Also if you google it up, enter the bios settings. There should be an option to enable Fast Charge vs. Normal charge
If you are gonna use it for gaming, i recommend removing the charging limiter, so that way you don't put that much strain when doing a high intensity task.
@@evetechtv i wanted to put 64gb of ram in it. sadly those cost a fortune. so 32 gb of ram at 3200 mhz? im currently just using for for palworld and craftopia (these are games) so far it been good. the battery awful only 2 hours on a 50% brightness...
@@sunakorose i actually upgraded to a 32gb ram. i am currently using 20gb of ram on just a single game. and let not talk about how 3d rendering will EAT ALL THOSE 32 GB RAM UP. storage 4tb would be good... have you seen games right now eating 300gb of storage? that just a single game BASE GAME! so eventually that 4tb will get full
