When you remodeled the cabin, you didn't add square feet but you added more storage and usable space. You have more cooking area, book and kitchen storage. Maybe these changes have helped you through this winter more than you thought. I've enjoyed seeing you thrive during these cold months!
Beautiful scenes and recipes 🙏 I got to grow up on a multi-generational cattle ranch around my grandparents and the things I learned/absorbed from them are absolutely priceless. My grandma was born in 1920she recently passed at 102. She shared her first memory which was ridding in on the wagon with her dad trying to beat an incoming storm. So many other jewels. Being in isolated nuclear families is not conducive to well being and I believe this separation from others is at the heart of all our ailments …. Thanks for trying to find a different way to
Yum yum! I suggest you bring your sewing machine closer to the edge of the table for better posture when sewing. I worked as a seamstress for many years. Love the Bernina!
Isabel, you're a real blessing. I enjoyed learning about how to tap maple syrup and to prepare it. Didn't know about the ideal temperatures for tapping the trees. Thanks for sharing this with us!
I am amazed at all the negativity in the comments, why? This is her channel to say and do what she wants, Are you watching so you can post mean things? Why? I don't watch videos that don't please me, I just click away. Sound like jealousy or something else in your life that makes you miserable, but don't blame her for it.
I haven’t read mean comments. I’ve read creepy comments. I would be more worried about the creepy comments. I’ve watched her from the start and I’ve noticed a lot of inconsistencies ALOT. Yes we all can choose to not watch and she would have to get out into the real workforce. But also to on the other side is you have a content creator who is not being fully honest yet makes just as much money of the negative viewers
You can’t fix stupid. Just have to ignore their buzzing and swat them once in awhile. Isabelle is amazing and a beautiful soul, she deserves our support♥️
After watching your video I was so craving for sweets 🍰🍪🥧😅 took your cookbook at hand in search of the recipes , after that I took my sewing machine , fabrics and 🪡🧵👗🔍💻🕵♀ for patterns .😄 It is so nice to hear how you honor your grandparents 🥰 . I am glad it seems you found your 'pace' , peace , happiness and 'home' in your daily life 🍀
OmG your baking is next level!!!!! We love watching the evolution of your cooking! Really beautiful ❤ and inspiring! It took me dozens of attempts to make a good scone!!! Spring is coming to Montana as well and we are feeling inspired by warmer temps!!!! Much love ❤️
I love Logan’s music at the end of your wonderful spring inspired vlog. Love your new dress and all your creative genius with your baking too . The syrup was fun to watch the process of making delicious maple syrup from a local maple tree on the river ❤
Your Gulf Shores sweat shirt made me smile! I have been going to Gulf Shores for the past 36 years. My in laws had a house which they sadly sold last year. I have many wonderful memories from our time there! So so many many wise words you shared today. Thank you!
I’m interested in your recipe for the biscuits, i don’t see the recipe. Thank you always for sharing your life. Despite all the criticism, I enjoy living vicariously through your eyes. I love seeing how others live and imagining, even for a moment, a life outside my little closed in life. If I can’t go to all the places I want to see, what a blessing it is to have RU-vid and people like you who are willing to share their lives. Although you may not have all the answers for everyone, you’ve enriched my life. Thank you for what you do.
Time goes by so fast. I love taking a break to watch your latest vlog. I agree with you in terms of us needing yo slow down, be present. I'm finding myself wanting to eventually start an intentional living community. Find some beautiful forest , and put down roots. I think most of us are wanting something different. ❤
A nice new oven range! A KitchenAid stand mixer! And a new kitty? (Or at least one I’ve not peeped previously.) I like the table/sideboard addition as well. Nice life upgrades 👍🏻
Beautiful scenery as always... Lovely images. Love this video in every direction. While it calms the spirit it ignites it as well to get up and do new things! Very cute dress...love the fun fabric. 🌼🌼🌼
Wow!!! I have so missed your videos so it was such a gift to view this one. What a great gift to start the week. I am so deeply inspired by you. I so love all your cooking and you inspired me to look into getting some of grandma s receptors and start making them. I was taken back by you making maple sruyp. I have always wanted to try that . Your new dress is so beautiful my grandma taught me to sew so I thank as well for inspiring me to get back to that. Wishing you abundant respect and blessings in this upcoming week and season. ❤
I have been wondering the same thing. I hope he’s okay. It’s possible she posted on Instagram about it, but I don’t always get notifications there of the people I follow. Hopefully someone can answer the question for us here?
You are so right about your elders. You are a very wise person for being so young. I can stuff from my garden and butcher chickens quite often and when I do I always think of my grandmother and great grand parents. They were always there with my family teaching us all. A warmness comes over me feeling like they are watching over head. By baking and cooking your grandmother's recipes, you are keeping her legacy alive. You can pass on to your children to teach to their children your grandmother's recipes. Like I said in the past ,for being so young. I hope you and Logan make it as a couple. Life is hard to make two lives become one. But you are a keeper and he probably has that figured out.
Isabel, I have missed you. So glad to see you and your wonderful life. Love to see you tap the maple tree, living in the Northeast we have our Maple Syrup farms all over and it smells sooo good when they are in the cooking faze. I have to say that fabric is beautiful and will make the perfect spring/summer dress. You are a talented woman and a real joy to watch. The baking looks like you need a bakery. Tell us what baby cats name is. She is a sweetheart and so good
We really enjoy your sharing your living ways and also your travels. Thank you for giving is some peace of mind in our busy and lazy times. There is nothing lazy about your passion for life. ⚘
I love everything you do and where you are. It constantly gives me the peace and quiet that I'm looking for here in Germany! Please keep it up and I hope you're doing well! I`m 60
Love to see you turning a corner and gathering so much joyful, youthful energy with the spring coming! This dress turned out absolutely dreamy, yellow is my favorite color 💛
I love your videos! They are like a weekly meditation to start the week. Quiet inspiration, Thank you for sharing a little bit of your thought and life:)
I agree. My mom was always in the kitchen preparing meals. Nobody has time for one another anymore. So sad. Me an my sister were always at the river with our dad. Tv shopping and phone is what people live for now. I made my first homemade cake the other day. Such a wonderful feeling. To get away from my cell phone and bake. ❤😊
so so so beautiful.... you are amazing thank you for sharing your gifts and art expression and your wisdom about looking within and not always outside of ourselves... beautiful 💗
You are right about external distractions. There’s a lot of speculation that the further we stray from nature the more humans have been developing zoochosis type behaviors.
Your home is so adorable now. I love the transition you have made. Lots of counter space which you need with all your delicious cooking and baking. Your dress is adorable on you. You have become quite a nice designer and seamstress. If that is Logan singing at the end, his voice is amazing. I thought you were getting married this winter???? I agree with you, spring is such an uplifting time of year. The smells of spring popping up everywhere, maple syrup cooking down on an open fire, spring rain making everything so green, birds chirping all day. Your mountains around you have such an abundance of flowers, I have never seen that before. So gorgeous, You really are an inspiration to us all. Your energy makes us ready to try new things. We must keep learning or be become stagnant.
This is precisely how I feel about Isabel. I could probably be her mom. lol. But she is just adorable and so stinking inspiring! I mean…sheeesh. lol. Her cooking and baking is NEXT LEVEL. I’ve been tempted to request (BEG) an order shipped to me. Namely her from scratch carrot cake or her cinnamon rolls. I found her a couple years ago via Hanna Lee Duggan. Both of these girls are just amazing. I admire their commitment to a slow, natural, learning-filled life.
Love the dress! You look so pretty as always! Personally it gets me a little bit. I have 4 sewing machines. That can't be fixed. I even asked a friend to just try them. So it would confirm, they were gone. But that never happened. So my dreams of sewing. I live threw you! Thank you, love you! ❤
Take all of your machines to a vacuum/sewing machine center where they repair them, and ask if you could trade them all in for an older machine- sometimes they need machines to “cannabilize”.
@@TeresaMaria-i4cAll of them are Singers Sewing machine. We brought the machines to them to fix. After 3 visits and a 500.00 bill. They didn't even want the machines. That was including putting new motors in in all three. Just going to wait for metal day. And they are going. Way to much drama. The singers they had at the high school were over 40 years old. And worked great. Mine were I guess just bad models. But thank you!
Your so right when your talking about filling ourslf with things never works there always a void god put it there for him but nature clalm us animals calms us i love listening to you you are a kind beautiful soul ive watched you from the beginning you truly are so kind and compassionate
i love how excited you got about the sap for maple syrup! isn't that miraculous...all of the bounty that our beautiful earth provides for us?? i loved your filming an extra lot today...that was horrible grammar but so how i felt. 🥰
Isabel, life is so crazy everywhere especially on the internet. Your videos are so grounding and makes me just stop and breathe!! There is nothing stressful in your videos. You are calm and just keeping things simple and real. Thank you ❤
Hi Isabel, thank you for continuing these video projects up there in the mountains! I know it's probably difficult during the winter cycle to muster the energy and creativity to make an ongoing series of videos -- so thank you for this gift of your time! As someone who has now moved into the city to finish my graduate degree, leaving behind a life entangled in the cycles and seasons of the land -- these videos bring me great comfort, and remind me to cherish those memories and experiences moving forward. Also! If you like podcasts, I think you would love the Belonging Podcast with Becca Piastrelli and the Medicine Stories Podcast with Amber Magnolia Hill. Both of these podcasts discuss seasonal living, urgency culture, ancestral foods and lifeways, and philosophies of inter-being. I think you would really enjoy them (: Take good care!
Greetings to you Isabel! Your grandma most certainly lives on through you. In your thoughts of her and your love, she is reborn. You all will reincarnate through infinity in this way, and your family home place, garden, orchard and forest in those mountains will make this regeneration of the family spirit with greater frequency and speed. Your children already conceptualized will bless you beyond measure for reawakening the wisdom and culture of your ancestors! Thank you for spreading the light of your conscious awareness.
Thank you so much Isabel! You made me realize what a blessing it is to still spend time with my grandparents. You inspire me to slow down and connect even deeper to nature.
You brought tears to my eyes, remembering my own Nana and grandmother. I think I'll get out my recipe box and make one of their recipes today. Thank you.
How many wish they were invited to that reunion and could share time with Isabel and Logan in this beautiful place and just get lost in every flavor of her magical food...🤤😋💗
Yes, I am jealous that I'm not there. Then again, I would turn into a big ol' fatty from all that food. Lol, I tried to make lemon bars years ago. They turned out like hockey pucks. I was so mad. Lol
You remined me so so much of my Grandmother, you bring me to tears and at the same time, make me remember what I want and what is important and meaningful from life... How do you do that? How are you my Grandmama, alive again?
SOME types of trees might even die from being tapped even one or twice. I hope this helps. (PS. If you do want to tap other kinds of trees, obviously just look up which ones are safe to do so, I do know though, that birch [At least silver] will weak, if not die from it.) And just to be clear, there's no need to plug up ur tap holes, I think it's actually worse for the tree to do so. Idk. But, anyways, we love ur vids Isabel! Thanks so much for sharing! you have a beautiful home, with a beautiful view!
Tapping a birch three does not damage the tree immediately, and you can harvest sap from the same tree for decades before it starts rotting the tree. That's why you don't tap all the trees in your land, and you don't need to, especially for personal consumption as you can run tens of litres of sap from one tree. It is possible to do this in a very sustainable way when not commercial practice, and eventually provide very important rotting material to the forest for biodiversity. :) Have a lovely spring time.
Hi Isabel. All your work is great and inspiring. Thank you and I get good energy from you. Your yellow dress is very beautiful. I think you should consider the height of the back of the skirt more when cutting the skirt. If the back and front of the skirt are cut the same siz, the back of the skirt will appear shorter due to the curve of the hips when you wear the dress. If such a situation occurs in this dress, you can add a pleated part to the end of the skirt with the same fabric or a white fabric and cut the strip of fabric so that the part that is placed at the back of the skirt is longer. 🌼🌼🌼
Oh Isabel, thank you for sharing all these things I such an enjoyable and inspiring way. Oh, the food! How special to have your grandmother's recipes and to be able to bake rhem successfully. The baked items look beautiful and delicious! I love your dress. The fabric and pattern and style suit you perfectly....sunshine and summer in the mountains. I like your tea pot and cup. I hadn't seen them before. The pattern on them reminds me of the sweet floral in your dresses you've made. Blessings dear Isabel and Logan whose wonderful music was at the ending. So soothing.
She is a content creator she makes money out of it and her job is making people dream about living a life like this and take them away from strugglings of city life and hard times... 😊 and now she is into Yoga girl Rachel Brathens mood... bone broth, chedar cheese blah blah blah....
I don't know if we could possibly know how much people were depressed hundreds year ago. Given the prevalence of incurable diseases and widespread poverty affecting the majority, it's plausible to assume that many lived in a state of constant anxiety and tended to have shorter lifespans than we do today. While I appreciate romanticizing the past and understand what you mean by disconnection from nature, I'm not entirely convinced that it was as idyllic as it is sometimes portrayed.
Glad to hear you’re feeling inspired and well! For designing your own clothes, do you have ‘block’ patterns (bodice & skirt block in your size that you use as a base for pattern making)? Remember the back of any dress, skirt or pant needs to be longer to accommodate your bum. Dress looks beautiful ❤️✨
When you take something from Nature or the Sacred Land you must ask the Tree for its gift - you leave an offering You can’t just take take what you want like a child .
Isabel, you are such an inspiration. One day, I also want to have my own space on the countryside, cook and bake my own cakes and food and sew my dresses. I am manifesting it, I really think it will arrive my time and my opportunity to live such a peaceful life outside the busy and loud city ✨ please, keep inspiring us
I remember my grandma was persevering almost everything under their house was kinda bunker even in hot summer days was freezing cold. She would dry everything growing in the garden. Plums peaches grapes mulberries just name it and most of wild foraged greens and legumes and few types of grains huge containers of so much ghee
Dress is cute but tad short... need to add length on the backside .. cause its the perfect dress for a toddler. You are def a skilled seamstress ❤❤❤❤ just need longer skirts my dear.
You're right. It's great to have fruits and vegetables available year round, but the joy and happiness when the watermelon or asparagus or cherries come in season is missing.
I love your thoughts you shared of your grandparents. We do not have in our life forever. However, treasure the memories close. I have dreams of mine quite often. I remember fishing , boating ,baking and going to movies. with them. They will always hold a special place in your heart
