Things Are Getting Weird At Mount Robson - Epic Vanlife Roadtrip

So today's video is a continuation of my epic vanlife roadtrip, focusing on my stop in Mount Robson Provincial Park. After my solo backpacking trip in Jasper's Tonquin Valley, I was sick and tired, and needed somewhere to recover. I actually spent 6 days in the mount robson area. The first 3 days I spent camping in Lucerne campground, then eventually I pushed further into the park and to mount robson itself. Eventually I settled in at Robson Meadows Provincial Park Campground,,which I used as a base camp for a couple days. First things first, I discovered that I had mice in my van. They got in somehow and ate all my food, and little did I know at this time, but mice would be a constant theme in my life moving forward. After I discovered my mice, I head for a hike to Overlander Falls. Overlander Falls is a 7km hike from my campsite, and it's absolutely beautiful. It follows alongside the Fraser River, and as a lifelong Fraser Valley resident, it was pretty special seeing the Fraser River this high. Mount Robson Provincial Park protects the headwaters of the Fraser River. The water flows out of the mountain, then down through the canyon and over overlander falls. The color of the water is unbelievable here, the pristine turquoise water is a huge change from the big brown sediment filled fraser river that I'm used to. Overlander Falls was discovered by a 1962 expedition, one that was 175 people strong, and was on their way to look for gold in Barkerville. They never struck it rich there, but for discovering this waterfall, I am forever thankful. I actually ended up doing this hike twice, once for fun, and once because I forgot my gopro there. That was another sign that this trip was starting to go south. After all that hiking I had a shower, then fired up the grill for some burgers, and eventually started a fire to burn away the rest of the night. In the morning, I shit my pants. It was the worst way to start the day, so I ditched the evidence, had a shower, then cooked up some breakfast sandwiches to restart my day. Eventually I drove across the road to get a (cloud obscured) view of mount robson from the visitor center. After that, I head further up the road to hike on the Berg Lake trail to Kinney Lake. Hiking the Berg Lake trail has been on my bucket list since 2006. Unfortunately I never found the time to do it, and then the trail was extensively damaged in the heat dome of 2021, and closed. They have since started repair work, and this year(2023), they opened the first section to Kinney Lake. According to a sign, they plan on constructing during the summer of the next 2 years, which hopefully will lead to a full reopening in the summer of 2025. The section I hiked to Kinney Lake was absolutely beautiful, I'm glad I did it, and I look forward to hiking the full tail in 2025! All in all, this was a great stop on my epic vanlife road trip, and I hope you like it. If you do, please like and subscribe to this channel, and follow me on Instagram @SARGEinc. I will be continuing posting videos of my road trip, I have stops in Banff, Radium Hotsprings, and more coming up, along with a few part video of my 128 kilometer solo canoe trip on Revelstoke Lake. This channel is growing, so come along, and let's get to the top of the youtube game together! Peace!
