Show Runner: We aged up the Emond's Field 5 because we dont think it will be enjoyable to follow a bunch of immature children on screen. (Proceeds to make the two most mature adults in the book series behave like immature children on screen) Is there any other evidence required to prove these incompetent hacks have no idea what they are doing?
They should cancel now and look for new people. I would put money down that it won't see a season four anyway. I think they spent so much money on the property that they feel obligated to do a few seasons, but they're just digger a deeper hole
@@jamesalexander958 Best case scenario Amazon cancels after season 3 or better yet just halts production and pulls the plug on season 3 and then sells the rights to recover some of their losses and hopefully it ends up in more competent hands. I find it unlikely that it would be attempted again in live action form after this debacle but that would be a good thing cause I think its undoable. For me best way would be animated but in a style similar to Arcane which was incredibly successful.
That’s a very good point, forced conflict has a tendency to become silly and childish because we just don’t believe the drama we’re seeing. It makes no sense, I think even to the casual viewer.
The two books they claim to be adapting are hugely important to Rand, his entire character growth happens in these two books. From the Shadow Rising Rand of the Two Rivers is dead and is instead The Dragon with nothing but pain, suffering and the descent into madness. We have none of this growth, none of the plotlines and honestly none of Rand. He may be on screen but he does and says nothing. Two huge books to cover in the show and instead a load of made up storylines. Where is the urgency, half way through the season, 4 long episodes and 5 to 6 months time off screen and where are we for our main characters? Rand: Hung a lantern, had sex*, killed a colleague, had sex*, learned how to do a npc fetch quest, had sex*, still unable to use a sword, had sex*, is now violent towards women Mat: Sat in a cell, didn't realise which wall led to the outside (duh men are so thick you know), ran away, following Min because he has no idea what else to do Perrin: Wrote a letter Lan: Walked around without his shirt on, died to a fade's blade, was resurrected (who cried on him to bring him back?), watered a tree, has to decide if he wants some Warder sex, generally lost Moiraine: Abusive to everyone, died to a fade, resurrected, remains abusive, abandons Lan, apparently did all this great set up off screen, can't sense the power but killed Selene based on feelings... Nyneave: Has not been using the power, instead has been training with a sword, now has some more emotional damage, will drink anything Egwene: Apparently doesn't like to do her lessons as she knows best, likes to moan a lot Lanfear: had sex, tells everyone where she is staying and apparently who she is, does not use the power to protect herself, apparently can't be killed 😒 Ishy: didn't kill Mat although knew he was in the Tower, didn't kill Perrin when they met, didn't kill Rand although he knew he was with Lanfear Min: now a darkfriend * Rand keeps his clothes on, so does Lanfear, the sex might be something Rand is failing at too. Also note that book Rand is aware that he does not have time, he had to keep on the move to stay ahead of the dark one, to do everything before he becomes mad. The show has Rand not giving a f*** about any of it. Logain can not help Rand to channel, he has been stilled, he can not show any weaves. Probably the dumbest change to the magic system they have come up with err well after the tears of resurrection from season 1 and I assume from this season too as Moiraine and Lan are alive. .
This summary, unfortunately, made me laugh at certain parts 😂 pacing is a huge issue for this show, as well as the focus they place on the wrong darn things! Mostly I want Lan and Moraine to figure their crap out, and to get more of Rand. I love his character and it’s like they’ve been avoiding him from the beginning!
