Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition on the Switch successor is going to be God tier. I'm willing this thing into existence. I've never played it, and it's my most-wanted game 😎
100% agree with the mindset of revealing, launching and managing the Switch 2. To further your point of resource management; backwards compatibility would further aid in them not having to device resources. Nintendo could make a few games here and there that work on the Switch 1 and have an update patch for performance on the Switch 2 and all those indie and retro re-releases that you know we will continue to get for decades to come (like the Arcade Archives) should automatically work on both without any differences on where you play them on. So even if you have people that are late to transition to the Switch 2; the current Switch will kind of become a handheld only device, but without having to develop separate games for it. This is also why I foresee yet another Switch 1 variant that will be even smaller and more pocketable than the current Switch lite; sometime after the Switch 2 launch. Heck; I would buy a Switch Pocket after a Switch 2; just because it would be easier to carry than the 8 inch Switch 2 screen device and sometimes I may be in the mood for simple retro or previous gen games when I go out (would be great if they added HDMI out via a cable). It certainly would help me stop buying these faulty Chinese handhelds and I can just focus on having a Switch 1 and 2 for all my gaming across all gens and not worry about the cheap QA of the chinese handhelds.
Keep in mind, Brazil said in February that we'd get a Direct in April, an Indie World in March, and the Switch 2 reveal in June. None of those happened.
Dude knows nothing. He claimed that Nintendo didn't know the date for the June Direct yet. Those things take weeks if not months to prepare, not to mention all the logistics that go into it, so it's very unlikely that dates like that aren't essentially set in stone weeks before.
Don't need a leaker/insider to know that Nintendo got some announcements lined up soon. Anybody that's been following how Nintendo operate since the Switch launch can guess the timeframe of a Direct. Early to mid September. The reveal of the successor happening this year is the real question because circumstances are much different when Nintendo did it in October 2016. It wouldn't hurt them to wait until early 2025 like in January to do the official reveal and then a big blowout event later with more game announcements than the original Switch and Wii U combined.
I'm guessing that maybe you are thinking that Xenoblade X will je a kind will be a kind of tech test title for Switch 2, assumong They are doing a well budgeted remaster.
I Hope Super Smash Bros Ultimate Deluxe gets Announced in Next Week 's Nintendo Direct for all Nintendo Switch Family Systems including Nintendo Switch 2 as well !!!!!
Xenoblade chronicles X is locked on the Wii U more than ever right now, because there is no way to get it digitally, and, even if you could get it physically, I remember there was an update to improve the loading screens at day one, which you can't get anymore, so it really would be great to get some sort of definitive edition for the switch or switch 2.

one theory I’ve heard about WW/TP HD’s absence is that if the Switch 2 has some kind of dual screen integration, maybe Nintendo’s waiting to reveal those versions of the games that’ll run at 60fps and have the same menu functions as the Wii U versions. Of course this would be in addition to Switch 1 versions as well that use solely the single screen (with that option being available for the Switch 2 as well)
