I think Zahid’s biggest advantage is that he’s better than the field from a technical standpoint. Burroughs is just the best at winning. I think Dake and Zahir are better technical wrestlers.. Burroughs just knows how to win. Got the X factor. Same with Dake who I think might be better than burroughs at this point and I can’t wait for that rematch

Bryce Alexander not the case and it showed in the match. Jb is a more skilled technician. Zahid’s physicality stopped many of jb’s early shots that typically work on opponents his size. After that jb adjusted his style and used angles instead of trying to run through Zahid.

I feel like him stopping many of those shots, which aren’t exactly good shots for anyone who isn’t JB, is a testament to Zahid’s technicality and positioning mixed with size. I also don’t think that’s the best Zahid I’ve seen. It looked like he’s not in his best shape.. but that could just be JB’s pressure and conditioning that made him look like that. But imma rewatch and get back to you

Bryce Alexander my whole point is jb is as skilled a technician as Zahid or Dake. For some reason he gets discounted as just being an athletic freak. Dake is just as athletic as jb in different areas to counter balance. Jb has explosiveness that 99% don’t. but Dake has freaky static strength that 99% don’t. Applying your strengths and analyzing your opponents weaknesses is the difference and that’s where jb gets Dake every time. And you can see Dakes weakness in many matches. He has a defense 1st mindset. He try’s to score on guys using minimal offense and once he gets a lead he try’s to sit on it. Watch Dakes 2nd match with Zahid or with Chamizo or imar. The guy gets the lead and sits on it. Many times he should be put on the clock. you can theorize that wasn’t the best Zahid but we for sure know that wasn’t the best jb! He isn’t supposed to be at that weight against a guy who is bigger than him. That completely balances things. I think Zahid was in shape he just never faced anyone with JB’s pace. And if he wasn’t in shape he had a significant size advantage so it’s all fair.

@@greatstate58 I like your argument sir. I agree that JB’s technical prowess is overshadowed by his athletic abilities in the eyes of a lot of people. I’m not saying that I think he’s better than almost everyone in the world from a technical standpoint. I still think Dake and Zahid are millimeters ahead in that area. I think that JB is just better at winning. Which is a skill, but not a technique and you broke down most of what it comes down to when talking about analyzing your strengths and weaknesses. But it’s more than that to me. JB just gets it done. Dake too for that matter. I’ve seen him do shit to win matches that I still think are impossible to this day lol

Id hardly call it cruise control. its called picking high quality feints and high % shots. Not just spamming empty feints and low quality shots.

Wrestling is mentally tough. I used to do outlandish things just to get in my opponents head. They respect eachother no doubt. It was just friendly competitiveness..... All match Taylor took the center aggressively in his stance. Jordan at the end was just responding to taylors attempt to bully him. Two great athletes and ton of honor

For example, i used to walk really really slow back to the circle like i was tired. And then BAM full on all power blast double out of no where. I caught so many people with that off the whistle at college level late in the periods
