Reusable plates and cups makes clean up SO MUCH EASIER.
I know that it seems counter intuitive, but I’ve been throwing low-waste parties / zero waste get togethers for almost a decade and here are some of my favorite tips.
Bookmark these eco friendly tips for upcoming holiday parties and entertaining.
1. For party over 12 people, try and stick to finger foods - way fewer dishes!
2. If you don’t have enough dishes or cups ask people to bring their own.
3. Always ask guests to bring tupperware to take home leftovers.
4. Start the night with an empty dishwasher and washing machine so you can load it up and run them and then go to bed.
5. Accept the help your friends want to give you with clean-up. Clean-up with a group and good tunes is SO FUN.
6. ALWAYS make an announcement with where the recycling, compost, and trash bins are. AND, clearly label them!
BONUS Clean up after parties when you use reusables is SO MUCH FASTER - I promise! People are way more conscientious when using reusable items vs. disposable items.
I think subconsciously, people treat a reusable with more respect as opposed to a disposable cup they’re more prone to lose track of.
P.S. I’ve co-hosted several parties this summer (why you might notice unfamiliar kitchens in the video!)
