Wow, this is so helpful! I waste so much food. I've been buying fresh weekly prepared meals because it has been cheaper than all the waste that goes on with my groceries. I'll watch more of your videos and see if I can change my habits. Thank-you!!!

Thank you for this wonderful video filled with so many tips!! I am 75 and am just now realizing that I have never liked all the plastic yogurt, cottage cheese and condiment containers in my fridge, but it didn't occur to me to transfer them to glass - duh! :) Am excited to get organizing!! Thanks so much!!!

I have pretty much gotten rid of thr plastic containers and been using glass ones. Even my laundry supplies are in glass containers.

That must be nice. My husband refuses to budget or stop going to the supermarket 1-2x PER DAY. He says it's stupid and doesn't help to go less often 🤦🏽‍♀️ he's the one who does the grocery shopping now after having a baby. But even before when I used to go to the supermarket, he would still go even if I had just gone

Check your receipts & the car. My husband would find any excuse to go to the store 'for me", regardless of how much food we had in the house. He was buying snacks that I do not keep on the house. I don't buy junk food to keep as snacks. A few months ago I found a fast food onion ring between the seats & a recept, bought separately from what he went to the store fore, with candy bars on it.

I’m dying for a real fridge. We live in an apartment and ours is absolute crap! Small and doesn’t work properly but our landlord won’t get us a new one… 😩 we are vegetarian too so we need a proper temperature control fridge

So when you are filling your bowls from the the tap you are using unfiltered and adding the vinegar and the water you put in the jars of cilantro and parsley is filtered?

When I am washing the items I use our tap water. When I am storing something in water like the herbs then I use filtered water.

Do you vacuum seal any of your jars that go in the frig? Does that help make them last longer? I noticed it changes the taste of my strawberries.

I just use a little dishsoap and my dish wash cloths, they do have a little scrubbing side to them. It comes right off

The best thing to do with dairy like yogurt sand cottage cheese is to leave them in their original container, UPSIDE DOWN until you open it. It lasts much longer! Transferring to jars contaminates it.

I used to own a housekeeping company and the countless amount of times I have cleaned up messes from upside containers. I prefer to do transfer it and then not have the bulky sized plastic container.

I wondered about contamination too..but I think if you are good at sterilizing (canning, etc) you can get things like sour cream into a jar without issue. Just the jar must be cleaned WELL, spoon also. I worry about contamination too but I'm gonna try it.
