I couldnt agree more. I have been quite blessed so far but night time and sleeping without them is hard since i still have my bottom teeth so when i take my tops out, my bottom teeth poke my gums... ouch
Hi Katie, I totally understand the struggle. I just wanted to give you a tip that may help you, I use the seabond lowers denture adhesive seals. They changed the game for me. I hope it gets easier for you. It takes time but u will find what's best fit for you. Good luck
I’m a year in and still adjusting but it’s much easier now. There are so many changes in your mouth during the first months! You’re absolutely not alone. To help with talking - sing the alphabet song.
@@katiekottmyer2074 Just hang in there, one day at a time. Don’t hesitate to go in for an adjustment if you have problems. And, be kind to yourself- it’s so easy to feel you aren’t adapting and this will never work.
I’ve been wearing a top denture for a few years now and still struggle hugely. I cannot eat with the denture, it breaks. I’ve had it repaired too many times. I have a terrible gag reflex so am constantly baulking. I really need a fixative but, I also need to remove the denture quickly so cannot use adhesive. Consequently I find my denture moves up and down as I talk. I just hate this situation. Well done , you’re so young and doing really well ❤
@@smh1072 thank you. And yeah mine do the same thing so I have to glue. And it’s horrible but I’ve accepted that’s just how it will be so I can be comfortable with them in. It does suck but I’m starting to get used to it.
@@Lou-nn3nr your welcome !!! And yeah, my uppers are comfortable for the most part. I do still get aggravated sometimes with them in tho. Over stimulated does not help
Have you heard of poly grip strong paste. It’s very good. It keeps the dentures in place. It will get easier. It took me a good six months to get used to my dentures. I was unhappy with my bottom dentures so am having another one made. Your mouth settles after extractions and hence your first dentures can feel big as you say especially at the back. I found I gagged and it’s too distressing.
@@bugs59d46 yeah. The best thing you can do is speak to your dentist about your concerns. I’m so glad I spoke up to my dentist because I had to go back multiple times for adjustments. I wanted them to be as close to perfect as possible.
I've had mine over a year and still struggle. I do get a free re-line, but I still have pain with mine. so, I want to get the pain issues taken care of before i get them relined. I am hopeful.
@@oracrawford8863 I haven’t had to do a reline thank goodness. I’m gonna make an updated video on cushiongrip because it caused sores in my mouth and I had to stop using it. So I can only imagine my dentures causing pain. I hope it gets better for you soon!
@@corilia9529 my tops don’t necessarily need adhesive but my bottoms do. If I “chew” or move my mouth in certain positions my bottom will pop up and rub up against my gums.
