I think that a feature to help the collab mode feature would be to have “locked” objects. Locked objects are objects that only be deleted, moved, or changed in any other way by the person that placed them.
But then what about object super intensive levels which pretty much force a lot of people to use an LDM copy? This would make it so the people who make those object super intensive levels would literally have to make the LDMs, which frankly, I don't think they'd be bothered to.
@@noetaun1857 The creator of a level making the LDM is how it usually is, using the game’s built-in LDM feature. Also, I’m genuinely confused about what you’re talking about, this wouldn’t prevent people from making unofficial LDM copies at all. (Edit) Actually, I think I get what you’re saying now, this just wouldn’t persist after the level is posted and or or is no longer in “collab mode”.
I think a weekly and monthly leaderboard would be cool so other people have a chance at those, and maybe being number 1 before it resets gives you a reward
Adding the missing glow blocks. U know that some of the glows could overlap and would look weird if the blending is on. So we dont have to use 'the slope' with black blending
the only positive i see as someone who is used to 2.1 and joined a relatively short time ago is that iphone users can play the game again like yeah, i get we have so many more features and stuff but that's exactly why. i don't want to have just learned the 2.1 editor just to have the game update and suddenly it's basically an entire different game
For collabs and teams like cherryteam, it would be useful to make a shared created levels folder. You can only delete objects you placed, unless you selected objects and asked for permission. To send/ create/ delete/ change description of the level you would have to ask permission from everyone in the team. Not sure how about a moderator/ host system would work unless you had a copy of your part of a megacollab saved to your private created levels. Although this entire idea sounds very difficult to code. Robtop will probably have a dev team by the time this is implemented (2.3?)
2:55 no, we have so many problems with Pointercrate that bringing it OFFICIALLY to the main game will cause even more problems and scandals. Also don't forget that the difficulty is SUBJECTIVE
I think there should be a “build helper” for newer builders. I remember when I first started wanting to make levels and I couldn’t do it. There could be a preset layout to practice deco or mini tutorials for glow deco or modern deco. I think there should be a tutorial when you first go in that explains everything. (also link controls on by default)
3:48 - I'm pretty sure that already exists in 2.2, we can see a new looking teleport portal colored pair of orbs that teleport from one to another knowing robtop, I'm sure he'll allow it to be used horizontally too, now that we know it's possible with teleport portals so yeah :>
I was thinking about the same thing. I think challange levels should be rated in "other" way. We could have something like "Top 100" but in challenges. I think it's overall great idea. Also, I think elder moderators should be able to rate levels. This would make rating system much better in my opinion
I think a good idea would be to have the ability to save trigger settings and use them through a mini menu of sorts. For example, if you set a move trigger to X -35, Exponential In and a 0.70 Move Time, you could save it and if you want to use it again, just press a "Saved Configurations" button in the bottom left corner and select it!
a global chat would be nice, because people already use the daily level comment section to chat, so it would "formalize" it removing the "hall of fame" section, because nobody uses it and just consumes space that other more important buttons could be occupying higher limit for level descriptions, because it's less than 3 lines rn also being able to write more characters in level titles, like dots, commas, exclamation marks, etc, so I could have the title "2.2 challenge" and maybe in-game custom emojis of the faces of the different difficulties for the comments / level descriptions / chat
I have ALOT of ideas. But theres just to many i can't explain. I just wanted to thank you for making a short, simple and STRAIGHT Forward video about 2.2 and your opinions!
The profile link feature be amazing. I sometimes spend hours trying to get the GD account names of creators for the description of a level completion/showcase or just wanna see more from someone but can't find their account
I think they should add a news button to see what new yt creators uploaded or news on the leaderboard . Or amazing levels And sometimes rewards in it like gems or demon keys Since 2.2 will have so much more to treasure room
I actually have an idea for a star rating system: - The level gets stars for difficulty (auto: 0, easy: 1, normal: 2, and so on..., also extra stars for demon difficulties) -Also gets extra stars depending on how cool the level is, maybe like 1% extra stars for amount of likes. - The orbs are counted as three times the stars amount ! - The old levels can both be left with the old rating, or automatically gets the new rating system, since it is a rating system that requires automtic calculations.
we need an object that is just the players icon as one object, like you could the "players cube" object and use it for effects and stuff, and it would always be the actual icons of the players. remember in culucs part in emerald realm there was a ship recreation, but with this new feature it would be the actual players ship, making it better
here is my suggestion and NOBODY talks about this the ability for creators to place a save point in platformer levels so you leave the level and go back to it at the EXACT spot the save place was at checkpoints will not count (checkpoint trigger) as a save place option, only when you are in the level you go back to that area, save point will actually save your spot and you can finish it for later. that will be usefor for entire games in 2.2
A think an "In Progress" tag for filters, so then when you search with the filter, it would only search for levels (in that difficulty, if selected) that have a normal mode percentage greater then 0 and less than 100.
Really cool ideas!! an idea i have which is not important but I find it interesting, is to have the option on your profile to put the flag of your country! to show everyone what country he is from
I think the best feature would be that you can post levels without verifying them and there would be a new tab where people can play them and once someone else verifies it you can upload it but the verifiers name would be in the description of the level or a new button that shows the verifier
Making loading screens with animations instead of having a frozen screen while something loads (for example having a cube jumping over spikes in a loop, or having a bouncing cube); report bug/suggest idea button; "main level contests": basically, people need to build a robtop styled level, which is supposed to introduce new features, and to be on a specific song. the best level that meet the all of the criteria will become a new main level. this would happen between updates because creators need to use the features of the version the level is made for
Maybe Robtop could add an 'Icon Block' Basically it functions as a decorative block, but you can customize it! You can enter a users' username or just customize it from scratch! Or maybe have it set to the player (similar to player colours) for some better transitions that animate the player. Of course, it won't just be exclusive to the cube gamemode. Or what about an 'If pressed' trigger? Now, this could be coming with the leaked 'If' trigger. But if not, then this could be amazing in platformer levels. And for mobile players, well there could be a moveable (and sizeable) button that can be placed on the screen. Of course, this trigger CAN be easily abused, but same thing goes for most triggers anyway. Here's how it would work: If [space] or [mobilebutton1] pressed, then [activate] group id [12] (Or alternatively) If [W] and [Z] or [mobilebutton2] and [mobilebutton3] are pressed, then [toggle] group id [13] *Anything in [] can be changed* Keep in mind that the names "mobilebutton#" can be changed to something else, those were just used for the sake of examples. Maybe a 'Jump height' trigger? While this can technically be done using the new gravity trigger, this trigger doesn't necessarily change the gravity. Meaning it's the same gravity, but the player can jump higher. This trigger will only affect the following gamemodes: UFO, cube, and robot Well, that's all i have for ideas. Let me know if you'd also like to see any, or all of these!
I would like it if 2.2 had a challenge rating, basically like demon ranging from easy challenge to extreme challenge. And of course if 2.2 had new demon ratings that would also be cool.
Something i haven't seen anyone suggest is some sort of invert colour block, where it basically invert the colours of whatever's layered under it. It would make for some really cool effect in 2.2 tbh
None of these will be added in 2.2, because RobTop said that the only thing he will do for 2.2 up to this point is bug fixes. So these might be in 2.3, but who knows. RobTop also mentioned that he plans to get update schedule back to normal after 2.2
I would like to see editor music like mario maker! You could choose a random song from newgrounds that you like that doesn't have to be in the level and then, just enjoy editing more!
With one click, you can get to your favorite icon set. You could probably say your icon looks very boring but if you put a gradient over your icon, it will become way much cooler
A feature I want is being able to mark objects in the editor as categories similar to "high detail". By that I mean being able to configure a level outside the level instead of having to collect a key for stuff like "disable shake", "fix bug at x%" or change the level theme, or disable flashing colors, or remove the pentagrams not by collecting keys but by checking a checkbox in the level menu right next to "Low detail mode" checkbox
The video should be named "Things I Wish Geometry Dash Had", because 2.2 has so many features, but anyways, i loved this video! Please make more videos like this!
Tbh, i agree with most of the things. Its just, give robtop some freetime man, he already works like 24/7. And you cant expect all of this at the same time, and most of the things you mentioned, are really hard to code. As a coder myself. Like for some of the stuff you said you need like servers and everything man. It's just my opinion. Btw this is not a hate comment. I just told you what i think.
Now people may think I'm actually on drugs rn... but i think more statistics would be really nice. You know that page you press when you see your profile, like more info there. Showing when you started your account, when you created your first levels and much more, also the exact date of level comments and pressing the info on levels show you when you first played the level and when you beated the level and also that it separates the attempts with practice and normal attempts, etc.
I had many ideas Some were there some not Maybe if there will be versus more there can be ranked mode or even clams with clan wars (every X days two or more clans will fight agaist each other with random demon of each diff. amd main goal will be scoring as many % of them as possible witj multiplying pt for harder ones)
Challenge ratings should absolutely be a thing. A challenge level can be really fun and good looking, but it won't get rated because of its length. And this way finding good and fun challenges will be way easier too! But the texture packs are a bad idea. You can very easily get a new icon by using a texture pack, and if everyone used one you'd almost never see someone else's actual icons unless you downloaded their entire texture pack. No, it should stay as it is. And the music slider in the editor is absolutely necessary.
Something i would really like even tho many would disagree is that when you beat a demon you get 1 added but if you beat that same demon on weekly or gauntlet it still counts and it feels unfair, so i suggest if you beat a demon in another tab i would like it to only give you the reward if you managed to beat that demon in other tab
I think that a feature I've wanted to see for quite a while would be to have different icons for the demonlist demons, because some of the demons like Limbo and Kocmoc don't really fit the hellish demon scheme, so an icon could be made for the demonlist that either allows people to change the colour of the extreme demon icon, or just have RobTop/someone else design the difficulty icon for all the demonlist demons.
yeah these are cool but imagine geometry dash 2.2 with full pathraced real time raytracing and deep learning super sampling with integrated ray reconstruction on the newest DLSS 3.5 frame generation with the RTX 4090. Alternatively Amd FSR 3.0 with Antilag+ and fluid motion frames on the latest RDNA 3 architecture would be pretty sick.
My idea is a montly and yearly level is good. Montly is basically a random extreme demon, rarely insane demon. Yearly level is the Top 1, when you complete it, it gives you an icon. Very rarely, it's the Top 2, and like every 10 years, it's the Top 3.
another interesting idea could be an improved searching tab, a creator filter (seraching levels only for a particular creator) and also an unmodded demon roulette and give (decent) impossible levels their own rating
RobTop should add a feature were you can decide where you should place your platformer buttons on screen and in which direction, would be good for levels were the player walks on a wall. (You can choose to make your platformer buttons vertical)
A accuracy mode (kinda like practice mode) would be cool and if you get a new best with 100% accuracy it will tell you when you finish the run and will register it in normal mode
For idea 2: I would much rather go for level tags then unique ratings for different styles because 1. People are familiar with tags 2. Levels can have multiple tags 3. Tags could give more flexible rewards (for example levels with a fire tag would reward fire shards) 4. Tags are easier to search by then having a unique tab for every style. 5. Tags can be used far more accurately to frankenstein a querry together that will spit out exactly what you are looking for 6. Tags could automatically adjust to trends by making them searchable/auto complete based on how often they are found in recent star rated and above levels 2.2 already adds 2 new ratings and 5 ratings overall is a nice number in my opinion. For idea 12: teleport orba are shown in the explorers sneak peek and even if they werent real or they were bound to y, recreating a teleport orb in 2.2 is extremely easy
I would like a collab points sistem, so when you share the level you can set some creators by the using the normal search user tab e they would get points for it. It would be really cool to see who is the creator that builds in more collabs
Rob did say that a collab feature (in terms of all people create at once) is something he would implement if he had a lot of time, so it is plausible if it would be implemented in future updates
Wish theres a ambience or calm music while making a level and you can change it to your favorite song as the background music for the editor and it will be off if you click the preview gameplay and music
I feel school is very cruel, after all, people develop mental illnesses and hurt themselves over a letter, that doesn't truly represent the true intellect of the individual. And are suggested a counselor older than them, the type of people kids won't feel comfortable to talk to. Considering the lack of proper socialization allowed in school, forcing people to learn to be social with others whom don't know how to be social, also responsible for social anxiety. And don't get me started on the lack of creativity and the lack of individualized work leading some to be pushed back and others still not understand the concept, the man who invented standardized testing said that it was too cruel to be used. As well as how homework was originally designed as a punishment, and turned to a standard thing teachers handed out. School sucks
Absolute rotation trigger. Normal rotation trigger relative and it's could be cool to see trigger that allows you to rotate object to constant value of degrees instead of addition or subtracting
Cut objects, e.g. slopes. And combine different objects into one, which would be useful when you use transparent objects. For example, when people use an alpha trigger on their art, while the objects fade, you can see the individual objects and it looks kinda messy. Also, cumstom map packs would be cool.
Idk but I've been thinking on Layer Management (?) where you can like, browse the layers withouth having to click everytime? (Like a mini window/menu for the layers) Also maybe you can rename the layers like "Glow, Background, etc" and change their opacity, or something like that. (i dont know if it already exists so correct me if it does lol)
Крутое видео.Честно очень хочется опробовать все фишки обновления.Смотря на ваше видео у меня появляется больше желания поиграть в 2.2 (Надеюсь вы меня поймете,если я пишу на русском)❤
