Great tips. There are some more I might add for new players. 1. You have to research "Recruit protocols" to be able to recruit soldiers. this should be one of the first researches. 2. You can adjust the width of your overwatch cone with control+ mouse scroll. It is not obvious, but is very useful. 3. If you equip ammo in the ready slots you can reload for free. Main weapon, grenade and medkit might be a better choice for most situations, but heavy using rage burst uses up your entire mag, so it's nice to keep in mind.
#2 us actually mentioned in the tutorial, I just think a lot of people miss it cus that part of the tutorial is a lot of "wall of text" and buttom prompts :) #3 I actually didn't know though, that is super samrt for rage burst users!
And rush base expansions. You gotta replay the game a few times because it's designed to intentionally not tell you anything. There is basically 1 base in every continent that spawns after you start doing Phoenix Project Missions. Seeking them out results in more research and fabrication labs, more food production and living quarters, and most importantly, more vehicle slots. With multiple bases you can essentially not worry about mist coverage raiding you, and focus more on making strides in progress. Most gear you get would be side grades, and you definitely need to know your loadouts and builds before you do it. Also you can recruit people but can't fire them, meaning the 3 passive skills they start with is random and greatly determines what builds they are good at (or does it badly when you give a sniper class close combat perks).
For return fire targets it is best to shoot the arm that holds the weapon. They lose the weapon AND take the damage. If you just hit the weapon/shield you lose most, if not all, the damage to the target.
Still waiting to be able to jump in, wish they allowed pre-install. looking forward to more videos from you. Also, you mentioned looting dead enemies, do you have to go around and pick up all the gear that drops during a mission or does it auto gather at the end?
@@ironboy3245 It's somewhere between the 1st and second Xcom games currently. Closer to the original. However looking at the modding possibilities, the community would find it pretty easy to add to this as they did with XCOM2. Also expect DLC's to add quite a bit over time. More customization is something I really want. I have about 25-30 mods in XCOM 2 and maybe half of them are for customisation - but none of them were available when the game launched and most weren't around for more than a year. I expect there will be some considerable time till Phoenix Point catches up - or at least gets close to that. But I love the gameplay. I love the base management, the meta game, the diplomacy and the character classes. It's not as polished as I would like right now, but the first patch is due in a couple of days and I expect the game to get better and better over time.
How can I reload that vehicle? Cannot see ammo in manufacture screen... its empty when I take it to mission.. it was in my base for 2days, still empty.. The rockets are oneuse and cannot be reloaded in mission or out of mission?
RPG Division a specific mission? My vehicle is empty when I go to mission. Build one vehicle, took into a mission, used rockets, completed mission. Put it on my base for repairs, did few missions without it. Took it for a mission, and empty when I start the mission. Well, I think I have to ask via ticket or something. Must be a bug..
That lasted only for couple of months. Then they switched me to freelancer and since then I have been working mainly on this channel and sometimes for them.
Now that we have a start on beginner tips and tricks how about a walk through of each level of play from beginner to legend for someone who's almost 70 and trying to get a handle on the play, soldier combinations of skills and that idiot mess called Mods I can't seem to get to work no matter what videos I watch carefully
Great vid! I never knew you had to load the recruits in! OMG!... no wonder i couldn't get them. Was wondering, can I increase my squad size from 6 to say... 7 or 8? Thank you and happy new year!
@@jordanf9381 the game was originally supposed to be on steam but it went epic "Exclusive" obviously Microsoft have done their thing since but its a shitty thing to change your platform after people have already funded your project.
@@FrakBeats the only people at loss are the developers whom will not get my money, if you want to promote that kind of behaviour that's your choice but it does make you a cretin.
As long as you complete the mission all stuff gets picked up at the end. Return fire has been really kind to me, snipers are godly with it and this brings me to reloading, if you are sure your sniper will return fire a heck of a lot of times next round ... be sure to reload your weapon, otherwise it´s true ... reloading isn´t just something you do, especially early on where stuff doesn´t fall from trees.
@@mrfreeman2911 Right, was playing a bit more today, and an enemy finally dropped its weapon, which was then collected automatically at the end of the mission. It seems that enemies only have a fairly low chance of dropping their stuff.
Probably New Jericho. They're the only group with armor piercing weapons and heavy mounts like rocket launchers and trust me this game will hit you with ridiculously armored enemies virtually invulnerable to assault rifles and shotguns.
@@quesocoatl21 good to know. I'm still waiting for the game to release on x box. I heard new Jerichos weapons are less accurate so you miss more shots.
@@anthonytokar3961 Yeah but contrarywise every shot that fails to do even a single point of damage is wasted and assaults are basically useless mid-to-late game without them.
