Abit late but maybe phrases like "i've been fond of this subject since I was young" or "the prospects of this industry intrigues me". Basically anything that, as the person in the video suggeats, milder and, as every one else commented, still creative and showcases good english command. Ultimately, I believe its important to show engagement rather than flashy english words. Its about how you use your achievements or experiences to convince the reader that you're a good suit
