I feel as if Michelle put effort out there because She had to set a standard that had never been set before. She knew that if she made one simple mistake, people would be quick to downcast her. And it all has to do with the color of her skin. But before we knew it, she became not only the first black first lady, but also in my book the most educated and the most "first lady-like" first lady there was.

My coworkers who are Republicans think Michelle was a bad first lady in comparison to our present photographed nude in the 80's first lady. I do not understand. Michelle is the epitome of a female role model. She is literally everything I want my daughter to dream to be. Without Obama, Michelle still has degrees in law and is an educated woman of self making. She's so beautiful from the inside out. Melania can't hold a candle.
michelle is independent she’s powerful , she’s highly intelligent , well educated . That makes some republican men uncomfortable , especially to the ones who aren’t highly educated or successful themselves. To them a First Lady should just look pretty and attend events. It’s especially uncomfortable since Michelle’s intelligence is far superior to who they voted in as president. Some men are just like that... it’s sad but true... typically disenfranchised women are now moving into positions of high power ....and the ones who aren’t highly intelligent or educated or even ambitious are pissed ....”because they are a man dam it!” Yet they won’t put the work in to be successful themselves. I think you find more of that among poorer , lower educated men than successful ones who typically want their equal. I also think it’s racism ... Michelle Obama looks not even remotely masculine yet they perpetuate her being a man . I really don’t know ... all I know is when I have s daughter and she has a choice of two role models 1 a Harvard educated lawyer who worked her way up from the bottom and married her equal who respects her or 2 a topless model with no education who latched onto a rich old man to stay in America and is miserable now .... pretty sure it’s a no brainer

Haha, I know! I remember when I was still really little and she was First Lady, and the different pro-health things she'd do for kids. Even if I didn't agree with the Obamas 100% politically, they were very good in-office (she and her husband were such graceful speakers like you say), and I took a lot of inspiration from her. Lots of people are calling her a man or gorilla or whatever, but I always wanted to try doing things like working out because of her.

I don't agree with most of her political views, but I still admire her for her classy representation of us dark-skinned black women. Plus, I've interacted with her a number of times (long before she became First Lady) here in Chicago, and she was always a class act. Go Mrs. Obama!
