I'm Scottish and I can confirm that every Scottish person's accent becomes thicker when they're angry.

The ONLY thing NOT to say to Scottish people is: Are you English?

When we lived in England, people used to ask my husband why he wasn’t ginger. His response was always ‘I have an English grandfather, it polluted the bloodline. I married a ginger hoping to correct things, but unfortunately the children are similarly afflicted’.

I lived in england my whole life up until a year ago when I moved to scotland and I've never met such kind hearted and generous people tbh

Love Scottish accents, my dad was born in Edinburgh and his family live in Scotland and Berwick but my dad moved to Leeds at a young age so he doesn’t have the accent but I always wished that I was from Scotland

My father worked with a Scottish man. He really liked him, he said he was so respectful. He said he never understood a word he said. Everyone called him Scotty. When Scotty would talk to him my father would say yes if he thought it was a question. No matter what. Who knows what he agreed to all of those years.

It's been many, many years since I visited Scotland but I don't recall all that much deep fried food. We did have haggis one night. It was... interesting. The more they talked about deep-fried this and deep-fried that, the more I drooled. How many of them get asked to say, "Captain, my engines canna take much more!" How about, "Have you ever seen Nessie?? Can you introduce me???"

I wear pants under a kilt cause if I'm wearing one it's usually at an event like a wedding or something so there are usually little kids running around. So im gonna wear pants.

Olay so I'm not a fan of too many deep fried stuff myself but that's just me personally. I like bagpipes but not all the time. I live in Glasgow and there's always some busker playing bagpipes in the town. It gets old after a while. I like the English, bit of a playful rivalry going on but nothing serious as far as I'm concerned. I don't get the heroin thing either. I'd be quite annoyed if someone said that to me tbh. The one thing they didn't say which annoys me all the time is when people say British and mean English like "British accent" when they're doing a English accent and yes, that's technically correct but they're using British as a synonym for English, which it's not.

I am American. When I was in Edinburgh I went to the station and tried to buy a train ticket to York (England) at the window. The process took about 5 minutes longer then it should have. The guy selling tickets had no idea what I was talking about. None. When I finally asked for a paper pad to write out "York" (which is pronounced with one short syllable in the USA) he yelled out AH, YAW-RIK! WHY DIDNA NOT SAY SO?

I visited Scotland last year for vacation and it was beautiful. And the food is great Also maybe it's just because I'm American but deep fried food is the best ❤
