I think someone messed up and didn't follow the story line. How did Bombay go from being someone working for Hendrix appeal and the junior goodwill games to the ice palace and hating hockey? The same writers write Cobra Kai?
And he couldn't pursue any kind of career in law? He would of had like 6 years in law school nevermind however long he was a lawyer for. He was more involved with being a lawyer than hockey for a good chunk of his life, but he just throws all that education away?
Gordon knew that the ice on the pond would hold up. In the first movie Gordon drives the limo out on the pond. Growing up around hockey in my family, there are two ways you can tell if the ice will hold. You need a week’s worth of below 20 degrees and you’ll be okay, and if a body of water is thick enough to hold a car (thus the limo in the first movie) it is completely safe. That was the point of that scene in the original.
My son and I loved this show. For me it was awesome to see all the nostalgia. My favorite episode was when some of the original ducks came back. I hope there are more seasons and we can get Charlie, Russ Tyler, and many others, because something happened between Gordon and Charlie that needs to be explained.
@@Dexter-vf2cg actually he’s clean and sober again, he went to rehab quite a while ago, if you look online you can actually see him doing and looking fairly good again
After the Goodwill Games ceased operations, Bombay was temporarily out of work so he might have gone back to practicing law or began collegiate-level coaching for some time before eventually becoming a scout, which later resulted in him being asked to 'quietly resign'.
Would’ve been better if Shoresy was there as an assistant coach that advocates for the kids. Coach T cuts Evan and then you hear him in the background “give yer balls a tug titfucker!”
The Calbation between Disney and the Hockey team broken down in 2006. Disney proberly straying away from naming the anaheim ducks which is a senior team.
This show was not good and let me tell you why. Evan got cut from a team that he was not good enough for instead of working hard to get better his Karen mom started a new team. The show should have been about the kids but we get episodes about Gordon and Evan's mom Alex which I would have cared less about. The team was too similar to the original team and could have picked a more diverse group. Why have their ace who is basically the female Banks with the same injury problem not just leave the team when Evan was cut. Why not fill the Don't Bothers with other kids that was cut from the Ducks.
Disney trying to copy cobra Kai, but instead of giving coach Bombay more dept like Johnny Lawrence they devolved him into how he was at the beginning of the mighty ducks movies and built him back up like the movies lol Disney fail…… Still I want a second season
So far both have ignored details from the original source. Bombay worked for Hendrix and the junior goodwill games. Jonny was almost killed by his old teacher and had no ill feelings towards Daniel.
Shout out to Distracted Nerd for the episode reviews so I DIDNT have to watch this show. It's actually sad to get behind it. A hockey mom got so bitter that her son got cut that she convinced her son to start his own team filled with players who have never played hockey a day in their life's. And that's what we're supposed to root for? It's cringe that were in an age of self-entitlement. The Ducks coach told the kid he wasn't good enough for THAT SEASON, meaning PRACTICE & PREP FOR THE NEXT SEASON. This was a kid who was ALREADY ON THE TEAM. It's obvious this show was aimed at the people entitled to participation trophies despite being benched all season long for being to soft for contact. See this is why Hawk was pissed at Dimitri at the beginning of Season 2 of Cobra Kai... Dimitri wanted all the cool recognition of being apart of the dojo without EVER participating. Sports can be fun, but you have to earn your spots, and if you fail it's ok cause you GAVE YOUR ALL.
Um no… he was cut from the team. Entirely. If you don’t play that season, you don’t play for an entire year… you think that’ll make you better? No. Participation in sport is really important. It’s great for kids mentally, physically and socially but balance is important. It was about balance and participation. Sounds like sport isn’t that important to you, and that’s fine. I’m sorry to hear it, but hope you have something else you love (that you’re allowed to participate in) 💕💪
@@teresadwight206 It's not that Sports aren't important it's the understanding that just cause you participate in a sport, it shouldn't lead to being rewarded. Every competitive sport will have it's winners & it's losers. Majority of Successful People dealt with FAILURE before reaching their true victories. Being cut doesn't mean you're a loser, it means WORK HARDER & come back to try again. You can either learn from why you got cut or complain about it. This show was literally complaining. It was actions made out of bitterness. I played Soccer & Basketball in my youth, my teams didn't win championships, but my coaches said the best thing about losing is learning from it.
With season 2 coming and Keenan confirmed to return for an episode, this show is doing so much right..having emilo take over Hans position and Alex the coach. I love this show!
@@lanceortmann4157 Shoresy would be an amazing addition. He’d be having them eat drumsticks at the end of every game and taking a dump before the game, between each period, and after the game.
The 2 things that went over my head: 1. The Koob13 internet thing 2. Although I knew Coach T was lying about the "challenge" thing I didn't realize just how bad it was what he was doing
Koob this is overblown. They obviously put together that Koob was the kid from school. Even if he wasn't, there is no harm going to a classmates house.
thats what I am thinking when I first saw this series. Gordon Bombay, from a successful Lawyer/Hockey Ambassador to a pathetic depressed loser in Gamechanger. What's this? Cobra Kai and The Last Jedi?
I will relate to everything even from a kid's point of view when kids are watching it and they don't see the tactics because my parents had me watch all the movies that led up to it kind of like with karate kid 3 and everything
