I love listening to a salesman that gets in to the product that he believes in,that's what makes a good salesman and with that kind of knowledge he is going to sell a lot of utv's.
I think he is a product engineer who is explaining the machine and not your run of the mill salesperson. He did a great job. It wasn't just passion as much as it was his deep knowledge base that made him a great presenter.
I agree. This guy seemed to have factory connections. Lot of knowledge of the product. I found him very informative. If you're in the market for this unit, this is a must see.
As a large guy I like the cockpit changes, seat design and steering wheel adjust ability. Also the removable bed will make for easy service and cleaning. The exterior look will grow on me, overall I like the changes.
Congrats brother on 100K!!! I always look forward to your videos!! I’m totally trying to get a can am or older rzr!! You make that shit look awesome!! Cheers!!!
What ever happened to having a paper trail map and actually having to know what trails to take to make a loop to get back to your vehicle? Also, why the heck do you need a factory radio on something like this? I go to the mountains to get away from that crap! Atleast it looks like Polaris has finally done some improvements that should have been done 5 years ago; captured bolts on the belt cover, stronger roll cage, and better belt life.
It's also a Blue Tooth devise so you can hook your phone up and have hands free conversations while your going 60 mph on a sand dune or rocky trail.. Just don't let the cops catch you --- Against the law to talk on your phone while driving!!!! LOLOLOL ---
Why are people disappointed in the CVT? Do you know how to work on a DCT? I’m happy to change a $100 belt in 8 minutes vs having to tear apart my machine or drop $1,500 at a dealership. Ask people with Pioneers or Talons how much they’re loving their trans.
OK....I have to tell you....I've got a 2014 XP4 1000 and have been seriously considering the Can Am Max. But after watch this video and having seen other Can Am service type videos, I will reconsider this car as a future possibility!!
I just went to Jericho atv festival in Berlin New Hampshire. There had to be over 1000 rzr I didn't see one with a broken belt or broken anything! I have a yxz 1000r with 36.5 hours and it's on the second clutch and that just blew at Jericho. I only seen about 5 yxz there and mine burnt out the clutch. That's 20% of the Yamaha product at Jericho. The cockpit isn't big enough to leave your foot on the clutch I'm 6'1" and I've never burnt a clutch in my life that's why I bought the YXZ. After the first clutch I had to pay for a Barnett clutch and the recluse clutch kit to ride it in the state I bought it!!! Needless to say I will never buy another Yamaha product again!!! It's easier to change a belt on the trail then a clutch and just let me tell you that getting towed out of the woods is the worst thing for a machine you can only go in the direction that you're being towed and trails are not straight!!!!
I have a 2018 rzr turbo with 32 inch tires and never blown a belt and the guys we ride with never blown a belt!!! My can am Outlander blew a belt once but that was driver induced haha
Does it still have the terrible low gear that geared to go 45mph? I have a 2018 turbo and I was so mad when I took my car out the first time and experienced that gearing. I had a 2014 1000 before that had a much lower gear that was perfect
AZBADBOYz ......The golden rule is: Something has to give. The belt is intended to be the cost effective sacrificial part. Not meant to last forever. One must learn to use the CVT correctly, carry an extra, inspect it often, and go prepared with the few tools to replace it on the trail in 15 minutes. It’s a very small price to pay in comparison to catastrophic drivetrain repairs and ruining the entire trip.
work hard....Absolutely not. All belt problems I’ve had and my fellow riders have had regardless of brand are purely the fault of the driver and the conditions. When you ride with a bunch of nut jobs, sh!t happens. Just always be prepared to pay the price for those “hold my beer, watch this” moments. Doesn’t happen often but eventually does to someone now and then. I’ve been in this for a long time and seen some crazy things. All brands have there strengths and weaknesses. We do enjoy some friendly competition and like to go home with some good stories. The worst part of changing a belt on anything is the darn things always seem to blow at the worst possible time and place to change it out. That’s why I highly recommend inspecting them often to have some confidence that it’s worthy of the hell its about to endure.
M K you should find the guy on youtube who put his POS Polaris on its side. It racked the entire vehicle so badly he couldn’t close his door. Not only that but the replacement part is back ordered.
just picked up a 22 model, awesome machine except body to frame, many gaps and holes were mud and debris can get into the cab on the rear fenders, had to order polycarbonate to patch them up?
Would like to see a metal gas fill tube and robust cap with self-sealing feature in case you tip. You would think they would have learned after all the lawsuits. Aside from broken belts, fire is the real bane of these machines. I know of two women who died horrible deaths. It happened where we ride in MOAB, UT- 2017. It all went down within literally seconds. Their P*laris tipped on it's side. The fuel fill area immediately cracked and fuel rushed out and hit the exhaust- done. They did not have enough time to get out. R.I.P. They need to invest more in safety and reliability. They can keep the radio. Those seats also look slippery and is there any cockpit intrusion material underneath? Other than that it's a very decent machine if you don't mind over paying for it.
@@wraith511802003 CVT is a parasitic loss pile of garbage.. Do your research, the utv mfg like Polaris and Canned Ham do it because it was easy, you have a 30-40%! loss through it pus the connection to the dirt is not there. Keep riding the bandwagon, Honda and yamaha can create a machine with less power on paper but put more power to the ground. How many cars run cvt reliably? not many...Look at the recall count/TSB and other plagued issues. Why do you think a 5speed honda or any manual car will last longer,,,,think about it. BTW, these are not made up assumptions, The numbers dont lie...A gear driven (clutch) transmission has a NET KW efficiency of 80-85% on a machine with 120hp will have 90 hp useable since drive train dynamic loss is invalid bc you dont have a slipper unit, a CVT/AUTO has a NET KW of 70-74% so an engine 180hp puts down 126hp minus dynamic drive train loss so about 118hp useable............I would say Tyler is not the ignorant one here,,,unless you are a polaris fanboy with no Engineering knowledge.
@@teak723 There are many CVt with over 10k miles and still going strong.. you just have a prefrence, that is fine.. that does not mean you are factually correct.
Why not or when will Polaris give us xp1000 owners the availability to implement these 2020 clutch upgrades on our units. 2x more clutch and belt life? Come on Polaris. We want it now!
Never Gary. Buy a new 240 HP Can Am Mav. R. Far better. Old XP1000 owners are out of luck. He even bashes that old design. You will take a major hit but if you ride a lot, grab a new Can Am Maverick R- 2024 model. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-26GDsGy4xkI.html&ab_channel=DirtTraxTV
Why would everyone in the group have to have one in order for those who have one to use it? Some in my riding group have two way radios, some do not. Doesn't mean those of us with the radios don't get to use them.
Looks ALOT like the Can Am X3. And many of the "new" designs seem like they're modeled after the X3. The rzr was "king of the hill" for many years. Those days are long gone. The industry standart now is the Can Am X3. All those neat gadgets are just smoke and mirrors to make up for the fact that rzr will never complete with X3 in the most important category: engine & HP.
A lot of good product out there. But everting has to admit, Can am brought the industries design to high levels. Polaris has done a nice job to be a good competitor.
No Limit RD idk if a turbo would be the way to go with the G. If it was big enough to produce real power I have the feeing that folks who work their General more than they play (trails etc) would be eating belts. I was thinking more along the lines of a supercharger...or even just a far more aggressive fuel/ignition map. Another thing that would really wake one up is a shorter engine air intake.
I don’t need a turbo. I would use a General for driving to work once in a while, plowing snow, and twice a year, heading to the Black Hills with friends. A north star edition, General, might just fit, what I need.
@@ROTAXD The General and the Defender by CanAm are such fun vehicles. If you are just recreation type of driving they are the way to go lots more comfort options and can carry a lot more cargo that the sport models.
Spending thousands of extra dollars on bells and whistles that you won't even use/need. I left the dealership at 17.5k for my 2019 Can Am X3 turbo. 120hp. Way better than 25k
Yes it looks really cool but did they address the reliability of their brand? I highly doubt it. Polaris is the king of serving sweet sweet koolaid to the masses
Christopher Redden I was raised on brp from back before 3 wheelers even existed and when moto-ski was still around. That being said, I now own both can am and Polaris. Polaris is not the same garbage that it was 10 years ago, anything will break with a retard behind the wheel.
I always liked Polaris till I started riding with them. Thanks to Polaris I've seen burned belts (lots of those) ignition problems, bolts fell out of intake, tranny grenade, bad bearings @ very low miles, and a few others while as for my can am had a bad u joint and I'm on my 3rd machine. Polaris make me cringe.
That's why I got the new KRX-1000... it may still be a CVT, but it's a very over-built CVT and has a centrifugal clutch that allows constant belt tension. Kawi says they didn't blow a single belt during testing.
polaris needs a standard trans, cvt systems are junk, yamaha yxz is the machine to beat at a much cheaper price,I have friends who own Polaris and all they do is break if you beat on them,it.s a shame
Fun freq yea, it is a lot of coin, but many folks are willing to spend it because they don’t “do something” every season. Expecially when a single seater 1000 Sportsman xp is $14,999. Two wheelers (one for you and one for the wife/gf and you’re at the same cost. The wife & I gave up our wheelers & bought a General (ride command) & couldn’t be happier.
I will never buy a used SxS. Unless less than 1000 miles. People just don’t maintain them like they should. Maybe it’s just me, but I keep things longer than 2 years. Still using my 04 500HO, for everything I need done. Next will be a General. And I’ll keep that just as long.
Woofer SD exactly. We’ve still got an old (2000) rancher 350 up to camp for hauling wood & hunting. The only reason I traded in our 09 Outlanders is that the dealer gave us top dollar for them as he knew the machines & knows they were well maintained.
Actually I just bought one "ULTIMATE" Loaded and it was under 25,000 NO TAX's with some Accessories attached (Roof, Half Windshield, Spare Tire)! If you wait till the end of the month and wheel and deal with the store "GENERAL MANAGER" (Not a sales guy), you'll get a better deal. Also got a 3 year bumper to bumper warrenty for 750.00 instead of 1500.00. It's worth the buy for sure!
@@woofersd2383 I AGREE -- I looked at over 12 "Craigslist USED RZR's under 1,000 miles here in Texas and -- GAWD -- the situations you find on them is crazy! From bent axles to cracked frames. And the worst ones to look at is the ones that have been modified with suspension upgrades and such, because you know people buy these things to GO FAST and GO HARD! Ive seen these used 2016 RZR's go for 15,000 + with 4,000 miles on them in Utah!!! Fuckin CRAZY.. My Advise -- If your going to buy one -- BUY NEW and get the Extended Warrenty -- Well worth the investment.. FORGET USED, your just looking for a problem child and a money pit!
It all seems great, for the money though, disappointing to see it still has a CVT system. Although it does seem better thought out compared to previous, designs. $30k though, has put it out of my range. I'll be sticking with my '16 XP1K for a long time.
Don’t worry they’ll drop it 5k in six months when they come out with something better classic polaris. Personally I’m tired of their marketing gimmick’s
Have you been living under a rock? Polaris is famous for this. Sure everything gets better with time but not six months after you purchased one of their hyped products and then they drop it $5000. Six months later.
Holy shit snowflakes ! I actually complemented the new machine, it's a lot better than the typical Polaris "bold new graphics" that they are famous for. Personally I'd like a departure from the CVT system, although they are simple to work on, I think with as heavy as these machines are getting, and the power some sort of transmission would be better. Opinions vary...
I hate to think what the maintenance costs are on this rig . God for bid it breaks down out in the rhubarb and won’t be putting high intakes on this cuz of all the electrics
Canker Sore all of the electrics/electronics in these things are well sealed. All connections are “weather pak”. We’ve had our General deep enough that the buttons on the bottom of the ride command screen were in the water....which also means that the ecu was filly submerged.
If Polaris would focus as hard on reliability as they do creature comforts they would have a perfect machine! They remind me of Ford trucks. Nice comfort and features but terrible reliability after several years of use.
Classic Polaris for you. Been there done that many of times with them. I bought the 18 turbo S which was really a 19. Then a couple months later they come out with the upgraded radius rods etc. They are marketing geniuses and we always seem to fall for their hype hook line & sinker unfortunately
I learned that the hard way too. Fell for the price drop and rebate of early summer. I’d rather pay a little more for the new stuff when it comes to these. Won’t get me again.
Now there making them so normal people cant buy them back to the rich people. Unless sign your life away on payments for a toy to destroy in the woods. To me it's to much just wanna ride in the woods I'll add my own looks.
started out being a good video , one i really wanted to see , after 5 minutes i couldn't stand trying to hear you over the 30 plus people around you. pretty inconsiderate.
garry robbins yes it was pretty loud but that was the best the situation would allow and we knew there was a ton of good info that we wanted to get out.
Who these toys for the wealthy whatever happened to reasonable cost for the working man's who put Polaris on the map and all the others manufatures why are they pricing us out of the sport thanks
@@scottwilliams3665 Exactly. They're for anybody that has a decent job. You're not going to be able to buy one of these with a minimum wage job unless you somehow are able to get a loan. And that's a good thing. Toys like this are for accomplished people that make 6 figures or close to it, have a nice house, truck and trailer to haul it around with and land to ride it on. This isn't for some broke minimum wage moron to haul around on a $500 trailer behind their beat up Civic
So, basically if you watch this video, he shows you where all previous model's weak spots are. And, even describes how to fix them. Maybe someone will get smart and use this new model as a launching point to develop repairs for previous models. Also, it is butt ugly!! Hope the aftermarket comes up with a panel replacement kit to clean it up. Whoever is in charge of Polaris' exterior design and ergonomics should be ashamed of themselves. Not only on this one's looks, but the previous models' exterior ergonomics. How hard would it have been to make slight changes so that when you put bigger tires on it, it didn't sling mud for a country mile? Or, make the little saddles on the sides of the rear bed fit something? Anything?
