Step 3: To get electricity before moving to an apartment, you can request by calling (+358-6357 7750) Nordic Green Energy. They are provider in all Finland. You can use other providers as well.

Step 4- Book the appointment with DVV to register you as a resident in the municipality. This is very important. Get registration for the same or next day when you arrive in Finland

After reaching Finland
Step 1: Get a sim card from any R kioski in airport,
railway station, bus station or anywhere.
Step 2: There is a second-hand shops in all cities of Finland if you need some furniture/home utensils, electronic and electrical appliances etc at a very cheap price. Check my video: • Best second hand shops...
Step 3: Go and register at the municipality (dvv.fi) as you already have an appointment. If you could not book an appointment before coming, do as soon as possible (call them) and register yourself.
Step 4: As you register in the municipality, immediately call to the tax office (029 512000) and order your tax card at your home address.
Step 5: Call op bank (www.op.fi/) to get an appointment to open an account. Tell them that “you already applied for the personal ID card but it will take time. You can open in other bank as well
Step 6: As you receive the bank account number and tax card, immediately send it to HR or your university etc.
Step 8: Go to police station and apply for Finnish ID card or personal id card.

step 9: After getting this personal ID card issued by police, you need to go again to your bank and they will activate the bank ID/internet banking.
Step 10: Now using your bank ID to log in to Kela.fi (social security department of Finland) and apply for a Kela card. You can also apply without internet banking.
