A look at what we experienced whilst we worked and explored around Cooktown.
We start of by checking out Plamer River Roadhouse on our way in and got a great feed and checked out the little museum they had.
Once in Cooktown we tried our luck with fishing and hand feeding some massive Groupers.
We have a brief look at the Botanic Garden where we get a great breakfast and walked to laze about on Finch Beach. We also check out Quarantine Bay and a very beautiful campsite at Homerule.
I enjoyed a beer at the legendary Lions Den Hotel whilst the boys played in the playground.

Yes, we had a great time in Cooktown. Would easy live there if the opportunity came up.

I went to the Lions Den pub back in 1973 and decided to come here again in 2018.A long time between drinks,you could say.I was not quite old enough to drive back in 1973,but in 2018 the journey in the hire car from Cairns to Cooktown was really enjoyable.

That is a long time between drinks. We hope to go back again much sooner then that lol. I bet it’s changed a bit since your first trip.

@@AdventuringPals Has not changed that much to be honest.The road is good now, as back in 73 it was not sealed in some sections.

Very informative vids thank you, I had heard there was good fishing at Cooktown but never caught anything decent size when we were there late 90's what work do you do on your travels

Well done. Should we be worried of crocs coming up onto the beach? Especially with kids?

NasTime Adventures thanks mate. Yes in most area we definitely stay away from the waters edge. And always keeping a good look out even in areas that are suppose to be croc free. We only swam in places that we were told were safe by the locals.
