Hi LG, The speed at which you are uploading , I can tell how much you missed gardening. These succulents remind me of my costume jewelry, So beautiful and pretty.. Need plenty of care and attention, Or else they will go into extinction. You are a professional Doctor, so they are in safe hands.

Have had reasonable success with this variety with grow lights. I live in Mumbai and have no direct sunlight in my balcony. Problem is humidity and moisture in Mumbai and not artificial grow light. U have to water very less and keep potting soil with very little organic content. I use 80 percent cinder and 20 percent perlite, neem powder and small rocks. Water only once in 15 days and keep a fan for air circulation

wow glad it’s working out well ..yes humidity is the main issue for succulents..yes in weather like Mumbai indoor is best option ..what grow light are you using what company if you don’t mind sharing its may help others …I did suggest many from Mumbai to get grow lights …can you experiment but reducing the cinder and use bit of pumice ,perlite or some coarse sand …because I have heard that cinder does retain slight moisture

It's not a matter of sunlight, it's a matter of ventilation. My agavoides is always outside in open air, down to -6°C in winter, up to over 40°C in summer, a ton of water in the rain season, almost no water in the dry season, only 6hrs of direct sunlight in the morning. She looks happy and healty, probably the strongest Echeveria I own. Same clone at my friend's place with more than 8hrs direct sunlight mostly in the afternoon looks just fine as mine, only the colour it's a bit faded by the sun. P.S. E. agavoides is not an hybrid, it's a true species from Mexico, but yes there are a few hybrids, several forms and three recognized subspecies.

oh wow i didn't know that they can handle -6 c ...learnt something new :) thank you i think it depends from environment to environment...like in the tropical climate even with good air circulation but less light they just rot ..they rot like overwatered succulents without watering ..it took me a while to understand what was exactly going on lost couple of agavoides just to realise it later that it was related with not providing them with sunlight causes that weird rotting which was huge surprise..because i had two agavoides one in full sun other in bit shady area and the one in shade rotted very strange..... ideally echeverias will turn leggy but i felt Agavoides in my environment will just rot and wont turn leggy ...yes there are natural varieties of Agavoides like example Echeveria AGAVOIDES Lemaire.... and then we have cultivars / hybrids .. AGAVOIDES 'Corderoyi' (Morren) Kimnach AGAVOIDES 'Ebony' AGAVOIDES 'Macabeana' AGAVOIDES 'Maria' AGAVOIDES 'Prolifera' AGAVOIDES 'Multifida' AGAVOIDES 'Red Edge' AGAVOIDES 'Red Edge' AGAVOIDES 'Romeo Rubin' AGAVOIDES 'Romeo'.... Champagne series was new hybrids created later

I have a Molded Wax - Lipstick variety up here in Canada in an Ikea glass cabinet with LED lights. Stays at approx 58% humidity 27c and is loving it's life in a terracotta pot. I let it completely go dry before watering, about every 3rd week. It's positioned 8 inches from the light. It's put on about 4-5 inches in height and spread in the 16months I've had it. I'm a beginner indoor grower, it's the easiest succulent I have. I've tried to leaf propagate but it never works.
@LushGardener
@LushGardener 2 года назад
yes looks like it’s going good …the humidity is bang on perfect that’s like my humidity outdoors 😁 I think you have mastered its 27 temp and low humidity perfect yes I agree Molded wax is one of the easy succulent among the agavoides family.. oh yes propagation I had just tried it once it never worked I tired with agavoides Romeo three months not even a single root ….from what I have ready the best time to propagate agavoides in early or beginning of summer but again it’s very hard to propagate these hybrids

@@LushGardener Do plants that grow indoors all the time under grow lights know if the seasons are changing?

Hello I live in Canada and grow all my succulents indoors including agavoides with no issues it’s does get very hot here in the summers close to the 40c (98f) I just lower the grow light intensity. It all depends where you live on how you take care of these plants it’s a lot of trial and error
@LushGardener

oh wow I didn’t know it can go upto 40 c in Canada 😯 thanks for the tip ….I always get this mixed feedback we’re ppl say agavoides had a hard time under grow light thank for the feedback ..😃

@@LushGardenermine do fine under light to. But I only keep them inside 3 months a year in Canada. My wax agavoides is my biggest diva of all my 100’s of succulents, I can’t lie. I have 1 and she’s only shrunk since ive gotten her and she’s almost died a few times. Agavoides definitely isn’t for beginner’s.

Thank you so much for always providing such high quality information! I absolutely love your channel! I’ve kept agavoides under grow-lights (>12 hours under LG horticulture luminaries) for about a year now and they’re doing quite well, the only thing I’ve noticed is their leaves tend to grow more narrow than if they’re grown under natural sunlight. Also, would you mind please identifying the blue echeveria species in your video (at around 7:40), I have the same one but don’t have an ID on it. Thanks!

thank you so much 😊….wow that’s is good thing they grow under grow lights ….need to understand more about grow lights ….regarding the blue succulent even m not sure the seller told me it’s a Korean hybrid infact it was dark in colour when I purchased it but now it’s has completely changed colour to light blue I doubt if it’s an agavoides 😊 thank you so much for watching 🪴🌿
