We were originally going to do it last week, but our guest had Covid, and when Monday came he wasn't feeling well enough to do it. So we put it forward a week - and I hope you'll agree, he had plenty to say. But hey - thanks for missing us, nicest thing I've heard all week -- A

New info and great insight shared by. your guest. New info for me on Gary Wright and close connections and Jimmy we will always. claim him on the. Gulf Coast of Alabama and Florida. At a local Mexican restaurant as a young hostess, orders for large Margaritas went through the roof and the customers, everyone wore the button number off on Jimmy's. forever " Margaritaville. Another gone too soon.. But, guys who step up, who are the originals? Who are the true musicians? Who are the true songwriters? Who are true story painters? Beyond, Who are the song painters? They are blessed with helping to heal our hurting world. A healing balm. Love in Christ.

Although the BBC probably had the ability to show the film in color, the mentality in the early days of color broadcasts in Europe, would provide a broadcast in black and white espescially when they showed something of importance. Everybody should see it the same way. That could be an interpretation.

I mean, if you showed a program about gardening and you were able to show it in color, you probably would. If the queen or king spoke during Christmas time, wherever you were situated, it was not necessary to show it in color, and at the same time people viewed it the same way..

I wish you all had grilled Steve a little harder on the questions that I consider to be some of the biggest mysteries in Beatle history. Steve says that United Artists went after the rights to a soundtrack album by the Beatles because Capitol didn't have those rights. But the deal to produce the film was struck in October 1963 - when Capitol didn't even have a contract with the Beatles! In fact, the rights for the soundtrack album were for the U.S.A. only, and in October 1963, almost no one in America even knew who The Beatles were! What possessed United Artists to finance this film? Was it so they could have the rights to a soundtrack album solely in the U.S. by a band completely unknown in the U.S.? This have never made any sense to me. Then the discussion moves to the speculation that United Artists might have signed a three film deal with The Beatles to get three soundtrack albums from them. Ken then asks why United Artists didn't get the soundtrack album for "Help!" Steve just glossed over the question with a speculation that Capitol flexed their muscle. This is a very unsatisfying answer! The question is an important one and I would love to know the answer. Steve's later assertion that United Artists could have had the soundtrack to "Yellow Submarine," but turned it down contradicts his speculation about the "Help!" soundtrack album. And then one could ask, why didn't Capitol "flex their muscle" over the "Let It Be" album? I know Steve put a lot of hard work into this book, and maybe the answers to these questions are beyond the scope of what Steve set out to do. Hopefully Mark Lewisohn will shed more light on all of this when Volume 2 of his Beatles biography comes out.

As a much as I love this videocast, Things We Said Today, I had to shut it off. Steve Matteo just drove me "Batty" with all the "You Knows." He needs to work on those "word whiskers." What are word whiskers in communication? Word whiskers are fill lapses in thought with vocal fillers; such as uh, hmm, you know, like-words. Unlistenable to me.
