I've been sailing the seas for over 6 years and yet even I had no clue on some of the things you had just covered in the video. Just shows that every day is a school day for all of us.

A less known free couple of cosmetics, if you link your sea of thieves account to your discord, you get the golden sailor blunderbus, and speaking trumpet.

Don’t try and get anything fast just enjoy the game and don’t get burnt out on it really explore everything

Crescent Isle is by far my most visited island, yet after 500 hours of playtime I had no Idea that book was ever there

Honestly pretty useful guide, appreciated. I didn't know about some of these as a casual.

Click in the right stick to zoom on a map if I remember rightly.

What Id get as a new player is the ashen curse. Its pretty easy to get and even some sported players wear it, as it looks really good.

On Xbox the interact button is X

Once one guy was stacking up vault Ashens totems, but then he disconnected and didn't came back, i was on the ship with him and I didn't know what to do, so other crew joined and we decided burry the totems, 12 totems on ashen ilands.

On Xbox, the zoom on button is RS (the right stick). Just press that down and if the map/book allows you to zoom in, it will zoom in (I say this since some maps/tall tale books don’t allow you to zoom in)

The first sails you could unlock are the magpie sails from the maiden voyage tutorial

For looking for red X’s use your boat map see where your boat is compared to the map and then work from there

on xbox it is LB to open your item radial and if you press A while it's open you can access your maps

I care more about aesthetic than status, that parrot set is something I'm gunning for right away. I have 2 million gold to spend, and a love of birds and goofing off.

I just want to gripe about the character selector for a second because I was shown it. Damn do I hate it. I remember finally getting enough to buy the pirate change and I spent an hour cycling through the randomly generated stuff till I just gave up and settled on one.

For me the button to zoom on xbox is right stick push in or R3.

i did heir of the trickster even burried 25 treasures but the eye patch is not in my vanities? maybe im missing something do i go somewhere else to equip it?

So I went to crescent island and read that book and didn’t unlock anything. Found the red shell, and the skeleton, reached into both and no notification of an unlock.

Make sure to use the full xbox (oreo) set if you are on xbox. And only do this is multi-console servers so the PC sweats know your worth.

So I grabbed the sea dog lantern but it didn’t give me a notification. It’s also not in my chest

Map zoom on Xbox is R3 a.k.a. click on the right stick.

I got the fallen sea dog lantern by accident. I was just swimming around and saw the chest.

The sad thing is that Shop Items Look so much better than free items which has me left with no reason to earn gold anymore

What would be nice is if they made the game pve/pvp. What I mean by that is we all play on the same servers but when you come across other players you get something like a prompt asking you if you want to engage in a battle with them. Normally they would appear like a ghost and their ship and you can go though them. Similar to how passive mode works in GTA online.

I have over 100 days and just found out that you can zoom in on your map…. Wow

I guess they caved to people complaining about them bringing back old fomo cosmetics via alternate methods because the game pass ultimate perk is a laughable joke and the ocean crawler set for ps5 players is also a joke....... and 10k gold as a special edition purchase...... excuse me? 10k......... This game is one of the most disappointing games of this gen…no character editor, no ship upgrades, no character builds, no combat mechanics…just grind money for useless cosmetics, if you play with friends, can be a bit fun being toxic with other players, but nothing more, because this game not have any solid high end objetive…so boring after few hours played 🤦🏻
