This blog is intended for my fellow filipino nurses and other immigrant nurses who are about to work in the UK soon. As of this time of writing, I only have a total of 16 months experience as a nurse but I was lucky enough to have been assigned to the toughest surgical ward in the universe. So might as well share some relevant information (that I know so far) so you can gear yourself up before battle!

hi mga nurses and aspiring nurses! just want to ask if possible pa ba magpursue ng nursing career at age 28 years old? i am considering shifting career since i don't really find any security and contentment as well on my current profession, especially dito sa pinas, underpaid din ang profession ko haha. dito na ako sa youtube nagpunta to get some advice! thank you!

Does having a wrist tattoo going to be a problem applying as a nurse in the UK? Are there any tattoo discriminations in the UK (from colleagues/doctors/patients)? Thanks

Hello, I would like to ask a question please,are NHS nurses allowed to take permanent night shifts or rotation will always be mandatory?because as far as I understand night shifts are less desirable by many nurses so it shouldn’t not a problem in theory but I don’t know about the policy in NHS in general or in the different trusts Thank you

Hi @Swieden, it depends on which region in the Philippines you want to be in. If you want to stay in Cebu (where I am from) the two best nursing schools are Cebu Normal University (CNU) and Velez College.

May tanong ako, Okay lang ba na Separate yung experience ko in different hospital, 1 year sa Dialysis Center and 1 year sa Tertiary Hospital, Is it considered 2 years Clinical Experience for me?

I believe that's okay as long as meron kang certificate of employment dun sa mga hospital na yun. Tas ung ibang year na hindi ka nurse, pwede mo lang gawan ng explanation letter.
