The memes aside, I'd kill for one of these. I need a really good laptop to handle old workloads and versions of linux and windows with said workloads. Can't get a desktop either since I have no room and can't sit for longer than 15min without being in screaming pain and its light enough and runs cool enough that my already destroyed back and hips won't be turned into dust and then turned to ash by the fans spewing molten lava.
@@That.One_Luke though I would have to agree that it isn’t very powerful(It can barely even do youtube at 480p), you’d be suprised at how capable it still is. I can still do general web broswing and play some lightweight games.
@@TanishqSharma-g5r Yeah you're right about that. The x61 specifically can have the x61t display put into it which is like a weird resolution like 1400 by 1050 or something and theres like a x62 mod that surfaced a couple of years ago which upgrades it to a 5th gen intel cpu. Though I read somewhere that it got discontinued.
@@dcfbf sorry for not bringing any clarification; i meant to ask how much did it cost you however i noticed it you received it for free; could i ask what is the story behind receiving it
@@julianabraham1007 Ah yes I received this pair of x61’s from a friend of mine who knew about this hobby of mine of collecting and using old laptops. He gave me these two x61s, a late 2008 unibody macbook pro 15 inch, and a Toshiba Sattellite 205cds for free as he didn’t have a use for them and they were just taking up space.
yeah they didn’t include hdmi in thinkpads until like the xx40 series or something. Though my e40 from before that has one and yeah no upgradeable cpu sadly the x series never had it
This video is way tto sigma. cattop dfgifdslnhdifofam d. Btw u sound really cool!!!@#!@!!#@!# uh i kinda found this video cause i got the x61 too!! yipee yay
I'm pretty sure they just use standard 18650 batteries so just sorta pop it open and replace the batteries. I've actually never done it before so I wouldn't know sorry.
