My friends and I were into reggae in high school in 1986. I must have rewound this song 20 times when I first heard it. Listening to it now I got a little emotional, makes me realize how timeless it is, and the message is still strong.
Seen these guys 3 times in the 80s once at Lupos heartbreak hotel in Providence RI Kat did a chello. Solo it was insane oh yeah and they crushed this song that night as well
“..World citizenship and the dream of international morality is a fleeting illusion, to be pursued and never attained. Never attained til coolie man, chiney man, African, them a try to come together in a one. BEH! Say Rasta man, RIGHT! Nah go down with Babylon”. Good time to understand these lyrics … and they don’t actually say what the web says they are saying. The lyrics sites all say basically the opposite.
