In the first clip of Thirstin Howl the 3rd's sit-down with VladTV, the rapper described his upbringing. He was born in Far Rockaway, Queens but was raised in Brownsville and Miami. Thirstin lost his father to a methadone overdose when he was three years old and was partially raised by his grandparents as his mother served multiple stints in prison. The rapper added that his mother was a heroin addict, who was involved in various crimes including kidnappings and robberies. View the above clip to hear more.

It’s so refreshing when Vlad has these real dudes in the interview chair who barely need any question-prodding. Once he asks them a basic & simple question, they go into great detail for the response.

Thirstin’s music is funny, serious, clever n deep all at the same time. I could relate to him on many levels. He has a line where he says, “walking my mom to the methadone clinic” . As a kid I used to walk with my dad to the methadone clinic. They used to cut the methadone with OJ. The nurses would give me n my sis Some OJ, lol. All the Puerto Rican references in his music hit hard too, La Cura is a classic album to me
