For those of you wondering how I would incorporate the new teams into the current divisions, this is how. *Bold* represents a new team. _Italics_ represent a current team switching divisions. Atlantic: Boston Brooklyn *Montréal* New York Philadelphia Toronto Central: Chicago Cleveland Detroit Indiana Milwaukee *Pittsburgh* Southeast: Atlanta Charlotte _Memphis_ Miami Orlando Washington Northwest: Denver Minnesota Portland *Seattle* Utah *Vancouver* Pacific: Golden State LA *Las Vegas* Los Angeles Phoenix Sacramento Southwest: Dallas Houston *Kansas City* New Orleans _Oklahoma City_ San Antonio

I agree with 85% of what you propose except: I would omit Vancouver (does not ring basketball city me) and add San Diego to the Pacific Division I would move LA to St.Louis to promote an intrastate rivalry between Kansas City and St Louis. San Diego will have an expansion team to replace the Pacific Division void created by LA Cipper move to St Louis Oklahoma city would move to the Northwest Division to fill vacancy left by Vancouver Southwest, Northwest and Pacific Divisions should now have 6 team balance with new team suggestions

One thing I disagree with is moving Memphis over Minnesota to the eastern conference. Yes Memphis is geographically further East than Minneapolis but Memphis has New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Oklahoma City located geographically closer to Memphis than ANY western conference city is to Minneapolis while Minneapolis is close to Chicago, Milwaukee and Indianapolis all of which in the east. It would benefit Minnesota a lot more than Memphis to move East.
@CharlieND

That's very true. I didn't consider that until after uploading the video. But on the bright side, Oklahoma City could take Memphis' spot in their division and form rivalries with the Texas teams, especially the Mavericks.

Actually the city of Pittsburgh according to the recent census just had a population boom along with the metropolitan area out of all Pennsylvania we had an increase while the Philadelphia area had a decrease and if the basketball team turns out to be competitive and good they will take over the empty spot where the Pittsburgh pirates are then we'll be legitimately the best sports city in America and besides no NBA team has a color black and gold that's reason enough to give us a franchise

Canada only needs 1 more nba team. Vancouver would be ideal to form a natural East vs West rivalry against the raptors. @@georgecoumbos2511 I would respectfully disagree. Canada as you may know is literally dominated by hockey. There is no interest in basketball unless the tickets would be cheap, which wouldn't be good for an NBA team. Do you see Edmonton having an NBA team? What about Saskatoon? If we are talking about coasts, it would ideally be Vancouver Geographically its similar to LA, lifestyle is similar to LA, demographics on all front such as income, interests, and overall psychographics are similar to LA/Cali/West Coast lifestyle. I agree the dollar is a problem and will always be a problem, which is why if there had to be 1 Canadian NBA it would be Toronto, the hub of Canadian sports and sports media, having the whole nation back 1 city is the safest way to ensure revenue. At this point we are past that but in a hypothetical risk scenario, Vancouver in my eyes would make the most sense.

@@seenaheidary4395 sorry my friend, but a couple of things I can’t quite agree with you On. First off basketball has been this high in this town. The first season we had the team it was electric and even going into our fourth, fifth and sixth seasons it was the only sports team that gave us any form of excitement and the Canucks are going through rebuild after the 94 playoffs, to this day you still see merchandise everywhere and people repping the team all over the city. I understand Toronto is the Mecca city of Canada and it is the central hub of our country much like how New York and Los Angeles is for the United States. However it doesn’t mean that a country of 38 million people can only sustain ourselves with one professional sports league team in basketball and baseball. We are known as a hockey hotbed in this country however it’s not the only thing that attracts sports friends from this country. That’s like saying Texas should only have football teams because that’s what they really love.

One thing about putting teams in Montreal that often goes unnoticed is how the province of Quebec is home to 8 million people, and a team in Montreal would immediately get a stronghold on the entire province, the same way the Habs have a huge following in the entire province. Even most disgruntled Quebec City fans, who spent 15 years hating the Habs as Nordiques fans have moved on to join the fanbase. And Montreal only has one team in the big 4. With MLB being a far shot for Montreal with the city not having a suitable baseball stadium and the NFL being unrealistic here, the NBA has a clear path

I mean, aside from the Supersonics, which is a given... who I'd be interested in? Harlem Globetrotters. For those who don't know, the Globetrotters sent a letter to Commissioner Silver back in June 2021, asking for the league to acknowledge their contributions to basketball (as well as them helping form the NBA back in 1949) by making them an official franchise. I still play NBA 2K17 as it's taken me a while to develop this league/ecosystem. I dont think the NBA will go to 36 teams, 32 yes, but not 36. I think you are correct though that Pittsburgh, Las Vegas and Seattle will get teams, but I dont think the first two will through expansion, more through relocation, as I think the Kings and the Hornets may be moving a in few years (within a decade), the Kings moving to Las Vegas and Pitt ending up with the Hornets (the Kings are 29th in attendance in the league and the Hornets are 15th, making both good choices to move) I think seattle and maybe kansas city would be the expansion teams to round out the league at 32. (I also think Toronto may move to buffalo eventually thanks to the lessons learned about sports teams in other countries due to covid, i think the canadian and international nba experiment is over)

Ah no....The Sonics moved to OKC because, according to Aubrey McClendon, they were going to move them to OKC anyway. OKC wanting a franchise was one of the worst kept secrets in the NBA in 2006. Esp when they tried to get the NBA to let the (Then) NO Hornets stay. David Stern HATED Seattle and all the other owners (Except Mark Cuban and Paul Allen) were ready to kiss his butt and voted for the move. Now we have Silver which all he is a David Stern "Mini-me" and Stern yes man which got him his job. He will follow Stern's wish and keep a team out of Seattle. Besides head of the expansion committee Clay Bennett has stated that he is never going to allow a team in Seattle. Let's face it Sonic Fans..... Howie baby screwed us over by selling to the wrong people. And hopefully by the next commissioner, we will get a team, but not while Silver is there.
