Aluminum bodies are fingerprint magnets (Kisune, cough). That's why so many Kitsune reviews look like the reviewer was eating fried chicken while playing. T16's are already heavy enough to not slide around in your lap. If you just like the blacked out look of the M series, replacement button caps are cheap and replacing the stock artwork with a sheet of glossy black paper is even cheaper.
@@similaritiesendhere Isnt the T16 kinda fragile? I mean comparing aluminum to acrylic glass... Thats why Im also a bit reluctant to get the T16 and just wait for a bigger M16
@@josetojoestar7533 Acrylic is a hard plastic (like 99.999% of every video game controller ever made). Whether plastic or thin aluminum is used, I promise you they've never made an arcade stick that's going to survive getting dropped too many times. Aluminum is also not black. How long do you think that paint is going to last?
I ordered a T16 because of your other review, so looking forward to that in March. Sadly the price seems to have been raised since all of those initial reviews but its still quite competitive, so hopefully I like it! Never used anything other than my keyboard to play lol.
Big props on showing how to enable the ability to use it with a PS5. For anyone looking for the best bang-for-your-buck, I'd definitely recommend hunting down the MagicBoots PS4/PS5 v1.1. On top of being cheaper than the Brook adapter, it's also smaller so you don't have what looks like a 2010's-era USB stick hanging off the top of the controller. 😆
Cheers brother for the tip on the PS5 mode with the brook in the controller instead of on the end of a USB lead. Received my T16 here in Finland, and it's going to be a game changer at locals and in fighting games for me in general!
Thank you for the ps5 configuration tutorial. Quick follow up though. Which preset does the ps5 mode occupy? Like are you able to switch to xinput with a key command and then switch back to ps5 mode with a key command? Or do you have to come back to the web editor each time?
btw Andy do you think it's tourney-legal by default since none of the buttons can double the in-game action inputs AND it's SOCD-neutral? or do we need to disable the additonal "up" button?
Ayoo, the people that don't like to read are better off buying a kitsune anyways xD I mailed their sales department, asked if they are planning on making a M version with the size of T series.
Been considering going lever less and have been eyeing this. Gotta confirm though, do you need both the adapter AND set up the ps5 configuration in the webconverter? Or is it one or the other?
Hey I wanted to switch the caps of m16 I did feel they did take time actuate so was wondering if you recommend any caps like on Amazon and what size are the caps?
Do you if I cannot the brook adapter into this usb port will has less or zero input delay compared to connect it into the cable end? Please comment on this.

The lip doesn't hit the base of the housing or board which doesn't make the travel shorter, the reason why the actuation feels shorter is that the stem of the transparent button is tighter or snug which doesn't allow the button to go all the down the stem of the switch, making an illusion that it feels shorter because it is higher. The actuation distance is within the switch itself and it will remain constant unless you modify the internals of the switch, what you are feeling or experiencing is the total travel distance. If the lip of the button is hitting the base/housing/board because it is longer, then the travel distance becomes shorter. And, you will hear a high-pitch clack because of the contact. In this case, it doesn't it just an illusion as the button sits higher especially if you rest your hand on the housing. I modify my buttons and shave off the teeth because I want them to be flushed... the travel distance becomes longer but still actuation is still the same. A way to make the travel distance shorter is to add O-rings to the button stem, to stop the full travel.

Next week that one will also pass its latest due date. If it's still not shipping, I'll cancel that order and place it at the even newer store they added to the listing, I guess. >_>
I recently got my first stick, a Nacon Daija second hand for a really good price. but dont really get on with it, ive thought about returning it and getting a T16(and adapter). This review and the t16 one really helped me make up my mind about getting one. You are the first person i've seen clearly explain how to set it up for PS5. Does anyone know which is best out of Brook Wingman or Mayflash Magic-S ULTIMATE? i saw the mayflash has a firmware update allowing for PS5 compatibility and they are much cheaper here than Brook.
Yo Andy. Good review! I keep hearing about it buit now I feel sold. I just have one question about the two buttons types. Have you tried any large sliding techniques like for vamprie savior push blocking or something on them? Thanx for the review :) At first I was searching for an aluminium case like the Razer Kitsune but finally I bought a Haute 42 T16 on Ali Express last month. I bought also a May Flash magic boot USB Key to be able to play on PS5. It's very convenient because it's a way smaller than a chronus; :) About 2x1cm... The size of the T16 is perfect for me, the size of the G serie is a little bit small I think to be stable on my laps ! ;) The T16 PVC structure is pretty good, you can set the artwork you want and I does not get fingerprints that easily ;) I'm very satisfied with the Haute products. In France a Razer Kitsune is sold 349 €, the Vectrix leverless is 399 €... So sure that the value of any Haute leverless controllers is amazing !
Got the 42 about a month back, I love it, no metal on mine, it’s acrylic, but it’s still comfy, and a bit larger than the one in this video, which is nice when it is on my lap. Gonna have to add some non slip pads on the bottom tho

I have to say, at the risk of sounding like I’m on QVC, I was blown away by this. I wanted something with extra buttons and apart from a custom made controller they were so hard to find, I paid about 90 pounds with shipping for it. It had great reviews but you’re still dubious, when it came the quality was actually mindblowing. It’s become my controller now, the buttons feel great, the led stuff is cool, the extra buttons are super useful, little touches like the display which tells you what button your pressing is great. I kind of want a vixtrix just to have one but it’s hard to look past this
I have a t16 and a magic-s ultimate and can't get it to work on Xbox series x. The settings has an Xbox pass-through so it should work. If someone has got it working with similar hardware I'm all ears.
I have no idea i've never tried it on an Xbox, hopefully someone sees this who has and can help out if not check the Haute support/FAQ page or join the discord and they might be able to help you out
I use it on my lap, and I used to play a wider acrylic Flatbox. This one doesn't feel thin at all, it's hefty. Sure, it's not a slab like the original Hitbox or conventional arcade sticks, but works fine for lap play
