Instead of a METAL RAZOR BLADE use a PLASTIC RAZOR BLADE that you can get in the tool section of any Walmart. They work great for scraping stuff off scratchable surfaces like paint.

I have owned three Ferrari's all of them were from the 1970's All were great cars. One thing I can tell you is if you don't drive them all of the time they will have problems. On the other hand when you go to sell one with miles on it buyers say how can you call it a Ferrari with miles on it. Stupid people. I put over 50k miles on each one. The modern Ferraris are trouble. The crazy thing is I paid $22500 for my first one new in 1977. $30k for the second one used and 35K for a used celebrity owned one from 1978 with 1800 miles. They all were 5 speed gated with spare tires.

I drove a Ferrari 360 Spyder back in the day for about a month for a film I was producing. Rented it from my buddy. To him, the car was very tempermental, because it spent most of its time in the garage. After about 3 days of daily driving, I found the car to be VERY reliable. The problem is, Ferrari owners want low mileage garage queens and they simply have to be driven all the time. Otherwise you're going to have constant issues. There's a guy I know from the Super Car Sunday scene in Calabasas, CA and he put around 190K on his 430 Spyder before selling and he would challenge anyone to put their service records up against his. He often made the point that "he's not saving his wife for the next guy".

Craig a little tip for ya. For less than $100 bucks per year you can buy a membership to AAA. They will come out to unlock your doors, change a flat tire for you, give a hot shot (they will even bring out a battery with them to install in your car if you prefer), bring up to 5 gallons of gas if you run out, etc. Best money I spend each year. Oh and of course they will tow your car if needed in addition to many other services.

That was me. Turns out the cable just fell off the door handle. I ordered three new door cables within 10 minutes of leaving there (two for me, one for him), and by the time they came in, he had already reattached the original cable. So no, I didn’t break anything, and no, I didn’t just “bounce”. Thanks for your input though.

Put a ductless mini split in the garage. A little 9,000 btu unit with keep it dry and conditioned. Ive got one in my 24x26 garage with no insulation and i hover around 55 percent humidity and 75 degrees all summer in north Carolina and 55 in the winter. Never have to worry about condensation and its comfortable to work on stuff.

Craig I had a 84 Mustang Gt, and when the engine died. Decided on 93 gt 40 engine with 2.5 real dual exhaust with fast flowing mufflers . At around 100 mph it had no back pressure. So no noise from back flow gases. It was an amazing experience if you closed your eyes you wouldn't realize that you're in a car. No engine noise, it was amazing.

You knew the top had problems before you took the keys. Every convertible ferrari model has documented problems with their tops. Like you said, you bought the ferrari you wanted. You're a car dealer and you didn't know they had to be kept on a tender? Really? Anyone who buys a convertible ferrari to store in the driveway should probably stick to corvettes.

I suggest if you need to do this again on another car , use a heat gun passing it over the section slowly. As you heat it up start pulling it off and also use a plastic razor blade which will help and not leave any marks.

You should’ve done your due diligence before buying a 360 or 430 which is the cheapest ferrari btw, it has common issues which you are fully experiencing as of right now. I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you. I watched this series, and while you don't know me, man we are so alike. I have ideas and dreams and goals and I work and get to them. Then they end up being the biggest headaches ever. My "Ferrarri" is actually a 1970 Dodge Challenger. I literally spent Ferrari money on it. Now, It sits in the garage most of the time, but I really felt that "I love this car, it was my dream car, to F this stupid thing!" moment.

The problem was new convertible tops have tension rods that have to be adjusted, as that car was hand made by Ferrari, not all hand made vehicles are a 100 percent the same, they are only 98 percent. So you have to adjust the roof when it's installed. Same for BMW. I used to work at a custom motorcycle factory, building clones of harley, and every bike was a little different, not so much anybody noticed but us. So sometimes stuff needs adjustments.

Craig, Harbor Freight (I know….) has a set of nylon chisels with varying widths that work for removing the old 3m protective film. Will not scratch the paint. Still a huge job, I left film on an old Infiniti for 15 years…. Finally faced it.

I'm a professional mechanic for decades. This isn't 1970, modern vehicles need a good battery for all electronics to operate properly. You will damage the alternator over time with a bad battery. Stop being cheap and always replace the battery.

Put a dehumidifier in the garage, and replace the seal at the bottom of the door. Also, why don't you own like 6 battery tenders? Keep your cars charged up, since you have so many that you rarely drive. Here's a stupid question... When you realized the interior of your $100k car was wet, why didn't you get a towel and dry it out? You just left it wet all night? Craig, you know why you're having issues with the car? Replace the battery. European cars get pissed off with bad batteries. Put a new battery in it and trickle charge it every night. Ferrari's are great new. There's a reason they depreciate like rocks and rich folks replace them every year or two.

Saw an RC Classic Garage video last night on the ownership cost. Holy shit…he showed the invoices. I’ve owned airplanes that were not that bad. We did just buy an RV and the water pump is out…I think. I lease BMW even M’s in the past…not buy…lease for a reason. In my 2nd year of their EV prototype i3…the fastest BMW ever up to about 35 or so as a fun toy.

Paint protection film is a wise investment, but not for long term, it should be removed and replaced after 2-3 years depending on how much sun it sees. Most cars like that have a battery tender cable that would be accessible to charge the battery.

New PPF is absolutely amazing. Especially the self healing properties. Stay away from "kits". Find an installer that will do edgeless installs. And go for a top tier self healing PPF like suntek.
