I haven't been able to get my gaming experience back together for a few years now. With losing my home to natural disasters and then job. Gaming hasn't been a necessity. I think of gaming again everyday. I hope things turn around soon so I will be able to again. Any help on gaming would be very appreciated.

can you kindly list the settings.configs that you use for each emulator? i have the aspire 7 laptop (i79750H and gtx1650 w/ 16gb ram) and I feel as if my emulators dont perform the same as yours.
I have the older version of this pc with an 8th gen i5 and 1050 ti. This version looks wayy better even just by the exhaust vent styling, even if it isn’t flush
Slow. VERY SLOW. I have a more powerful laptop (i7-9750H + GTX 1660 Ti) and it struggles to hit 20fps at 480p. Also MGS4 requires a special build of RPCS3 to even run. It doesn't work on regular RPCS3. Better tests would be Asura's Wrath (Legacy or Async+Interpreter for playing, Async for testing shader compilation and related popin), Persona 5 (because that was a big thing), and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (instead of Tekken 6).
@Dread There's a special build linked in the RPCS3 compatibility page for the game. That will play Metal Gear Solid 4, but not well. I wouldn't call it playable, but you can get past the intro television and control Snake.
Don't expect to be emulating MGS4 on a low or mid range gaming laptop anytime soon. Trust me, I tried on my laptop that has similar specs to this but with an AMD 3550H. 4C 8T processor but t's worse than the i3 9300H. With the laptop ETA is showing you're gonna have about the same issues as I did with running MGS4. A stuttering mess. Games like Tekken 6, Persona 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1, Sigma 2 and Demon's Souls should run fine though, check those out if you want some PS3 era nostalgia on an emulator.
I am still hoping someone will create a Xbox360 emulator and run perfectly PGR3 and PGR4. As for this machine, it looks good for emulation. Thanks for the video.
So cool to see you talk about this pc I'm super happy because I just picked it up and had it about a week before I seen this posted and I love it so far iv enjoyed it and definitely can't wait to run some emulation on it now
Dunno why but I love watching videos like these! It's neat to see what these machines are capable of (I especially love pi-related things) eventhough the term "playable" gives me stress for some reason, probably because I always had to make due with what we had growing up but we still got by
I hear that. I had the same experience growing up, and most of my game knowledge comes from watching my friends play or watching videos on youtube lol. But there is strength in being able to build a machine that is twice as powerful for half the price (without sacrificing portability). ETAP and a few other youtubers have proven that.
@@durgasdelight oh for sure, if done right you can save big and get great performance. For example, look at dell workstations ;) 16 thread xeons with 32GB ram or more for cheap.
You should try running NCAA Football 14 or NCAA Basketball 10 on RPCS3 on this, the engine in those games is notorious for random crashing and audio issues on Ryzen processors so I'm curious to see if this Intel chip can handle them
I have this laptop with a Ryzen 7 and can stream VR wirelessly with virtual desktop to my oculus quest. I'm extremely happy with this laptop. Edit: I should mention I did bump it up to 16GB RAM.
I just bought a refurbished HP PRO Business class which is almost the same as this, no GPU for my college when I am out and other people's school as well. The only difference is the lack of dedicated GPU and mine is encased in steel and came with a 4 year warranty for the same price as this. I do feel salty I missed this, but with my warranty, if it dies, Walmart will refund me the $450 in full, which is super nice. 4 Years I got, so I am happy but still salty =/
Thanks for a great review, but from my experience with the same specs laptop it has its downsides. For example throttling when CPU is overheating (~85+°C) and that happens a lot during the PS3 emulation or other things. Have you encountered something similar while testing this model?
Id love to see how well this Laptop would be doing creative stuff, like video editing and rendering resolve. premiere pro etc. Maybe some blender aswell.
ill have this laptop in a few weeks. i can give times for rendering in premiere and blender if u want, they're both programs i use. i think it'll do pretty well, only problem might be the 8gb of ram especially for people who work under heavy loads, but i believe this computer has open ram slots??
I JUST GOT THIS LAPTOP ON SALE AND MY 2 FAVORITE RU-vidRS SAID IT WAS AMAZING THIS IS THE GREATEST PURCHASE EVER. the other youtuber is the toasty bros btw
Emulation is different than running a game natively. This laptop would run any ps4 game better than the ps4 itself tbh the ps3 emulator is new compared to the others like dolphin or ppsspp
As a human being with a laptop that runs Mario kart DS at 10fps and plays every Wii game at half speed like if it's on purpose," *that's just unfair!* "
Walmart in stock alert setup! I think this same laptop is also going to be on a Best Buy Black Friday Sale. I'm gonna try to buy this and then also add another stick of ram and possibly add an SSD drive. Thanks for the video!
Yes your right it will be on Best Buys black Friday this year. Hopefully it won't sell out like everything else. Early access is Nov 16-17 and normally it will be Nov 22. So good luck to all. I really want to pick this up for my son.
I'm so mad that I can't buy this Laptop. It's literally the Laptop I've always wanted, perfect in every single way. But I live in Greece, dammit. We don't have Walmart here.
@@S1N4II even you build the PC by yourself you can't have the same performance for this price. I know you can change the graphics card in a rig but it is a laptop more practical than a rig 😉 I have a rig though but I can use my Laptop everywhere I can have a power source.
@@S1N4II That's such an incredibly BS Answer. Yeah yeah yeah, a PC build has it's advantages and is cheaper, but if you want a fucking LAPTOP that's out of question. To help you understand that. If you said you really wanted to get that Motorcycle and someone said get a car instead, then that's not really what you wanted, right? Yeah, both have an engine and drive from A to B, but there is still quite a difference between them, I'd say.
Even if you don't have a Walmart order it from online. If you have a debit or credit card then you should be able to buy things online. That is just my opinion.
HP laptop was the only time that I took out an extended warranty and it was repaired multiple times under warranty, however it would still overheat in the summer unless I ran it on a laptop stand with a huge fan underneath. Next laptop I bought was MSI and I never had any problems at all. All of my friends have had bad experiences with HP laptops being repaired under warranty and still breaking afterwards.
I mean. Just because it doesn't run at constant 60fps doesn't mean it's not running full speed. Sure it's nice but 50-60fps is perfectly running imo. Also a google search can help you with the shaders compiling issue happy emulation!!!! (Great video as always btw)
Awesome to see something like this on the market. Greatly appreciate the in-depth work you're doing to check all this stuff out for us. It's out of stock online, but I've got a restock alert email set up. My current laptop is a 9-year-old Dell XPS that was a gift from the family before college...so just about anything I can get my hands on is going to perform better than it, and if I can spend $450 instead of one or two thousand, that seems like a good gig to me!
Can you please show some of the higher end arcade based emulatation games from the teknoparrot emulator such as Daytona Championship USA, Battlegear 4, Gaelco Championship Tuning Racing, GRID, H2Overdrive, Initial D Arcade, Outrun 2, Sega Rally 3, Tokyo Cop, Valve Limit R, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5 (WMMT5) and all the Fast and the Furious racing games. I like rail shooters and racing games but racers are much faster pace so wanted to see how it handled them.
I had this laptop before. The first time I had it I noticed right away that the w key would not physically get stuck but randomly it would just stop working for a second. For example let’s say I’m running in a game, it would stop by itself and I’d have to click w again. I thought it was just that laptop and got a replacement but it turned out to have the same issue. So I think it’s just HP’s laptops or something. I ended up getting a lenovo legion 5 which is working really well.
*Finally! Just what i was looking for! This gives me a very clear idea of what is recommended to be able to emulate my favorite games. Thank you very fucking much!!!* 🍺😎🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I have a laptop with a 1650 people have said it's not powerful, I have not had any issues. I can play control assassins creed, metal gear 5, gta all on ultra setting and it hardly ever drops frames runs a pretty constant 30 fps
Man PC prices are fucked outside of the US. My cousin bought the same laptop at at around 930 USD (67k INR) a week ago. Why are people with lower purchasing power expected to pay more than double for the same hardware? T_T
men you are very lucky for being in usa, i got the last model before that one with a i5 8300h and gtx1050 at equivalent of 1000 USD in my country, well that was like 2 years ago so yeah
love your videos, filling your niche corner well. Could you test Minecraft in the future? i play modded and run VM of linux, would be interesting to see how your devices handle that stuff
Been eyeing this laptop for a while. But I think I can get almost the same performance out of a small form factor Lenovo Think Centre box with 8 gigs of ram, 3.20Ghz i5 cpu and 500 gig HD for around $139.00. So there's still better competition for the price point.
FOR EVERYONE'S INFORMATION: I've seen videos where extra RAM will greatly improve WiiU Cemu performance for the Nvidia GPU. It has something to do with shader rendering or something. So you can buy and add an extra 8 GB of RAM and you should be good. It might also improve PS3 performance.
@@Arizona-ex5yt On the Walmart website it literally says it maxes out at 32 gbs so I have no idea what the other dude is talking about. Also putting another ram stick in will make the entire computer faster so it's just a good investment all around lol
I picked this great laptop up last week and for the money am impressed. Replaced the 256GB nvme with a 1TB, and added a 1TB SATA SSD and another 8GB DDR4 2666 I had laying around. These can go to 32GB RAM.
What are your settings for Killzone? I can run Midnight Club at x10 resolution with an i3 4170 and a GTX 960, but Killzone stutters in like x2 resolution, really weird.
This might be an affordable alternative once my HP Omen craps out. The Omen cost close to $1,300, has an I7, solid state, Nvidia 1050ti. But I've pushed this laptop to its limits making videos the last 3 years, I dont know how much longer it will last, and certainly cannot afford paying the $1,300 price tag of the Omen again. The only drawback with this Pavillion might be the lack of a second drive bay. My current Omen has 2 hard drives.
Are you using async shader compilation in CEMU? I've found that all but eliminated stuttering in BotW. It was an amazing update put out around 6 months ago.
i have a question about gaming on a laptop: can you use a PS4 or XBONE controller? especially with the old stuff like Rogue Squadron? and can this laptop also do Steam, Xbox Game Pass, Playstaion Plus, and Epic?
Would really love to see ya do a video for this laptop for some regular PC titles. Have been looking for a laptop that can run Dragon Quest 11 for the PC.
HP knocked it out of the park this time around! I haven't had a machine from them in about 7 years, and it was never a pleasant experience with any of the 3 I owned previously... but man, I don't think I'd mind this one. I don't need it, but if I did, I wouldn't be complaining.
