I just finished a full frame.off restoration on a 1986 Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance sedan. I purchased the Car the day after my high school graduation in 2004 for $300 It was anone owner car that drove and ran amazing . It had ice cold AC,soft leather seats.,air ride suspension. Needless to say,I was in love with it from the first drive 😊 It originally came with the Oldsmobile 5.0 307 ci (Snail slow)😂 engine It only had 35k miles. Ran like a sewing machine, and shifted gears so smoothly and quietly I really didn't know what gear I was even in LMAO. Ever since 2010-2012 after attending a lowrider car show I wanted to build a sleeper/unique Cadillac. So I done a 6.6 Litre Duramax Diesel swap with Twin "Compound" precision Turbochargers mated with a 6 speed Manual transmission. Im.running a 92 mm turbo that helps spool the 108 mm turbo faster for a more.powerful and quicker reaction timemoff the line. It currently makes 1175 HP with 1990 ft lb tq on 65 psi of Boost. 1/4 mile time 8.2 seconds @170 mph I can daily drive it on 35 psi making 950 HP/1550 ft lb tq while achieving 20-28 mpg ! I make my own bio diesel with used vegetable oil from local fastfood restaurant, aswell as the frying/engine oil people bring to our local trash dump, mixed that I filter and ensure is clean of any and all metal/trash clmtaminents before using. When it's all said and done I'm paying roughly $0.25 a Gallon for my Fuel. And my Wife drives a TDI Jetta which runs off of our bio Diesel aswell ❤️ The rear end of the Cadillac is tubbed to accommodate up to 14" wide wheels , however I'm running 17 x 12 in wide Rear wheels on nitto tires Aswell as 17 x 9 in front wheels. Im able to slow down and stop this beast with ith 14" Wilwood drilled and slotted ceramic rotors along with dual 6 piston calipers on each wheel. I have roughly $45-48 k invested in the entire build. So Pretty much half of what it would have cost to pay a shop to do the work instead of doing it myself. I've been offended $100k plus cash for it at the dragstrip on multiple occasions. But I turned it down, because my two young sons want to keep it in the family ,with hopes of racing it themselves someday ❤️ The Sense of satisfaction I get from their interest in the car, gives me reason enough to never let it go no matter the cause. There's no greater feeling of accomplishment in this world that can ever compare to becoming a Father, aswell as building something from the ground up that you can pass on generation to generation.
