A lot of right handed players who can shoot the ball prefer to go left because it's easier to pull up going that direction. Giving someone their right can make it easier to guard them cause then you can overplay drives to the basket and force them to pull up for jump shots in a direction they're less comfortable with.

What stood out to me is that BJ often looked out of control almost, on his shots, as if he was trying to do one ore two feints too much in one sequence. Even on some of those shots in game 2 when he made it, the shot looked crazy wonky. The whole sideways shooting thing looks to be his form, but it just looks weird. Just looked up his current season stats and he is making around 40% of his threes, so I guess it is working ;)
