My Bergmann came yesterday having ordered it 2days before, excellent service. It’s a sweet watch and will not disappoint, however the strap is uncomfortable and not to my taste. Changed the strap and now looks the ticket!
I love these ultra affordable type watches & videos personally. I still feel like $300-500 is a lot of money but in the watch world it’s considered “affordable”
Same this was something I had to come to terms with when I first started collecting.. some £800 watches were “affordable”. Even now I’m in a position where I can spend more, I still struggle to justify 300
Depends on your relationship with watches... if you're choosing the right one which can easily accompany you throughout your whole life, 300$ is extremely affordable. If you're collecting a bunch of them every few months, it sure is expensive.
@@benironside1264 I can't justify spending a big sum on watches but it's ok because I believe I'm in the most exciting sector of the watch hobby. A luxury watch to me is something like a Yema Rallygraf, Davosa vintage diver, Seiko 5 sport and Orient Bambino. These are all sensational watches with rich heritage and history. My daily wearers are things like Casio, Timex, Sekonda and Lorus. Again, all brands with history and heritage.
That Xpose isn't bad for the money. One of my Sekonda's has lasted me 20+ years. With the Timex Expedition, you could easily upgrade the crystal on that for not a huge amount. That Bergmann looks great!
in my 9th years of collecting, blessed with 27 watches right now, all within $250. Most of them are within $150 category. You gotta collect on what you like, not on what people say on youtube. These 3 are great finds like mine and gonna tick flawlessly for years
That Bergmann looks great for the money. I found a similar Bulova that retails for $225, often on sale for $150-$180 on a Black Friday deal last year for $100. I love it. Almost enough that it makes me want this Bergmann too.
Great video. I have the Bergmann 1922. It's amazing quality for the price and gets as much wrist time as my "expensive" Swiss automatics. Highly recommended.
Attainable pieces are where its at! I love to see how much I can get for very little! I still haven't owned a Timex... Guess we will have to change that sometime! You got a tank too? That's dope! Sekonda is hard to find in South Africa so I have never handled one. This is a great collection. You could do this again with the same budget but with a different watches! Take care man!
I'm in the USA. I ordered the Bergmann-Uhr Modell 1922 on March 2nd. I love rectangular watchs and have several of them. I'm excited to see the 1922 in hand and on my wrist.
I had one of those exact Timex Campers for a short while when I needed an emergency watch. Nice piece but with the hand colours and busy dial, I felt legibility suffered. So I moved it on. Cool video, love the concept. Affordability will chime with so many folks right now 👍
The Timex Camper was (and might still be) offered at US military PXs (Post Exchanges) and during basic training, the drill instructors would tell the recruits to get a watch from the PX... nowadays, it's usually a G-Shock, but tons of US G.I.s have had the Timex Camper, so it has a true military heritage.
I think it came out more fun without the Casios 😆 also, I think I might make one of these with just 3 casios anyway 💪 Email me your address Rik, I'll send you this Bergmann. No charge, just for being an absolute legend for all this time. My email is in the description 👍
@@TopTierTicker Wow Kieron thanks mate! That's very generous of you, it'll be my first Tank style watch! I'll email you my address. Always a pleasure to watch and comment on the channel, looking forward to the Casio collection video! 😀
Great video! I'd like to see affordable watches specifically from different countries. I'd like to build my collection of watches from around the world. For example a Volstok from Russia, Seagull 1963 from China, a Swiss made watch. German, Italy, French and so on. I'm thinking about Vario from from Singapore. What do you think? Thanks, keep up the great content!
@@TopTierTicker Do you have any recommendations for places to get watches repaired at all? I do have a couple I need fixing. The Tissot and an 18kt gold watch I was left by my grandad. The problem being I've never seen the brand anywhere else.
Very Good review !!! If possible can you please provide links to these watches. Or, better yet the model name and numbers so one can do a google search. Thanks
I have several watches from your reviews. Thanks. I have large wrists (9.75 in) and have trouble finding straps that fit. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks again.
Can anyone tell me which serial number of the battery Bergmann 1922 uses, I took out my old battery from the watch and lost it. Then I can't find any kind information about it anywhere. It would be really helpful. Can someone help me with it?
The pre-quartz Timex mechanical watches were pretty lame. i assume they only make quartz models now. Bergmann also makes very similar models with Roman numerals instead of Arabic. But good luck getting any of them in the USA!
Love the affordable vids mate! However I have bought watches in haste because they were cheap and now don't like them. I can't justify spending £1000 plus on a watch either unless it's one I really really want. Probably wouldn't go beyond £1500. I want a watch that LOOKS expensive/quality, with an automatic movement. What are your thoughts on Tudor, Rolex etc?
You could buy a fantastic watch collection for £1500.. There’s plenty of £200/300 watches that look and feel “expensive” The big Swiss brands take the piss in my opinion and I wouldn’t waste my money on them.. Plus there’s a chance you might lose your life for one too… Spend a few hundred quid and you’ll have a lovely watch that won’t get nicked the first time you wear it 😀
@@derekhunter24 Ironically I bought the 41mm Longines conquest on Saturday, by far the best watch I own, it just feels a class above. I got a good deal on it too, kinda makes quite a few watches in my collection redundant now
Sekonda don't get the respect they deserve. The company has heritage. I know it's not the original Russian brand but the world moves on and things change because they have to. Sekonda offer great looking watches at affordable prices. I still have a Sekonda moon phase that I bought new in the 80s. I don't for one minute pretend it's a Patek Phillipe but it does have its own place in the hobby. I'd much rather buy a Sekonda than a designer brand. Sekonda are a watch company, not a brand who have jumped on the watch bandwagon and I respect them for that.
It's very difficult to find watches with quality metal cases at this price ! NEVER buy a watch with a Chinesium (powdered zinc alloy) case. They corrode terribly in salt water and every summer your wrist will be bright green as the fog builds up inside the dial....SIGH As we as plastic, Timex use chromed brass, which lasts about 5 yrs and isnt bothered as badly by salt water. That Bergmann is fantastic value, it's so difficult to find a stainless steel watch at that price !
Ummm I know, that's why I was so impressed by your choices. Te vast majority of metal watches at this price are Chinesium. Perhaps I should have made myself clearer, it's 4am here 🤪. .. I'll edit the first post to clarify..
