My friend and I loved GoW2 horde mode. We would play it for hours, getting into the hundreds of rounds before we get killed to just start another round of horde. Some of my favorite memories from childhood.

Man, I remember doing this on GoW1 and 2 way back, it was absolutely brutal, even with co-op. That feeling when you reached the end, though? Fantastic.

I love gow so much. Me and my brother played all the games on insane, and regularly go back down memory lane and play them again. I would be so happy if you continue this as a series.

Gears 1 is the easiest to do on insane. The hammerburst melts enemies, it has some puzzle combat, enemies don't spawn constantly, and they like to ignore cover. RAAM flipping sucks and honestly the only way to beat him is to abuse cover and grenade spam so that he gets stuck.

These games are my favorite of all time. Started my gears 1-5 insane playthrough about a year ago. Currently halfway through gears 4. Gears 3 was a nightmare. Many breaks needed

I got Gears of War on the day of release not long after getting my Xbox 360. I was totally blown away by it until my first playthrough ended and I realised how short it was. I then went for all cogs and insane mode and I remember getting so stuck in the mansion and at General RAAM. Can't even remember if I used the turret or not. 😅

This video released at a perfect time, doing the 100% for Gears of War 2 and I'm still 998,500 kills away from getting the Seriously 2.0 achievement. I always put your videos as background noise when I'm doing Horde mode achievements. Keep up the good work Snam, love it!

The Gears games started my journey into replaying games I've played in the past on their hardest difficulty (Evil Within's AKUMU, Dead Space 2 and 3's Hardcore modes, Outlast's Insane difficulty, MW1 Veteran, etc), and the results? Think of it like a Hellraiser movie, pain and suffering, mixed with a good time

the cpu's on insane aren't useless, yeah they don't kill anything but they are the best meatshields, since their health scales UP with difficulty they will tank for you a lot

I have all the achievements on Gears of War 1. Including Seriously. I got that achievement legit and you get a gamerpic for unlocking it which I still have assigned to my Xbox profile to this day!

Fun fact about the multiplayer achievements if enough people left the lobby it wouldnt track ANY of your progress to any achievements that match. So naturally a loosing team would just quit the match as a virtual middle finger.

i had no idea the turret was that effective. i had to use the bug where he can get stuff on the environment and you blind fire until he dies. this game was way more enjoyable on the hardest difficulties.

I found this to be the toughest Gears game in the original trilogy to beat on Insane. Took me forever to do it way back in the day.

Oh boy. I remember this game, fond memories. The funny thing is that you it is MUCH harder to play it in co-op than alone. This is because when a player controlled character is knocked out, he dies immediately and you both lose. When it is an AI they just fall down and need a pick up. Sure, they can be killed in that position but it is marginally easier from an instant game over. My brother and I, who played this game together, had to do a single player runs in Insane to get this achievement. Otherwise, you both lose your mind. Great video! Need more Gears!

I think the biggest lost in this was the fact we couldn't keep the couch. Rip couch you were a good one 😢

One of the few games I got 100% completion on. I will always remember the moment I unlocked "Seriously..." From the campaign, I remember it be pretty easy, except for this turret section at the end where I *had* to get someone to come play co-op with me to pass it. Haven't finished the video yet, but my prediction is that will be a pain haha.

This is the game that made me buy an Xbox 360 after playing it at a friends house. I played through that campaign on insane multiple times solo before I got a 100’ Ethernet to run through my house and have my mom hate it lol. Got every achievement and then put probably 1000+ hours into ranked after getting seriously… This game started my love for gaming and will always have a special place in my heart

I remember going through the Gears series on the hardest difficulty, I never felt it was that bad, yes I died a couple of times, but other games were far more brutal in terms of difficulty

If you want an additional G.o.W challenge, the inconceivable difficulties in the new series (4&5) were LEAGUES more difficult than insane, and while I’ve beat both on that difficulty, I definitely had to step away from the game at a few points. It’s all about figuring out the ranges the enemies can gank you, because the have the WONDERFUL habit of rushing you with gnasher shotties while you’re pinned down from longer range enemies. The problem is that you have a much shorter effective shotgun range compared to the grunts,but in many cases you need to be close. On top of that the boss enemies like the pouncers are super aggressive especially when you’re in cover so you have to not only dodge their attacks but you have to keep moving and relocate your cover constantly

the memories, my brother got seriously and seriously 2.0 for gears 1 and 2 and we did the campaign co-op on insane and it was some of the most fun I've ever had

The trick to this used to be that you got the multiplayer achievement first so that you entered Insane mode as a god, hitting all your headshots and active reloads perfectly.

This achievement really demonstrates why high difficulty in a 3rd person cover shooter makes the game worse. It’s not fun to spend most of the fight hiding behind cover waiting for your health to refill.

Brings back memories... especially with the torkbows and the final boss fight. I thought I'll never beat it, but after countless attempts the boss stuck on one spot, and I was lucky enough taht the fliers from the sides didn't kill me, and once it was really close...

As a career doubter my favourite part was hearing a very certain deep Locust voice go: "BOOM!"

People who only played the remaster will never know the sheer pain Raam caused on the original. Basically Raam on insane in the remake was hard-core on the original 360 version.

I’ve completed all the insane difficulties for the original gears trilogy and if you plan on doing this for Gears 3 that last boss fight is so frustratingly hard. They’re satisfying and fun for sure but man some of the bosses are tough

I played gears for 11 years, was a huge fan of the series and must’ve played 30,000 matches throughout the titles. I remember doing Gears 1-3 on insane difficulty solo, thinking I’d be done in a week. Hell to the freaking no, it took me almost a month and some levels are so difficult to do solo, that I literally spent hours on one missions multiple times. Gears 4 up this difficulty and strangely I’ve never beaten it solo but I have the Inconceivable achievement for doing it solo… after the 4 mission it gave me the achievement, still don’t understand why. Gears 3 I’m blocked from getting all the medals as 5 of them never unlocked and I’ve done them multiple times. So I’m stuck with 1 achievement for the last like 10 years. Although I quit gears back in 2018 as the game because stale for me, and collation seems to not know what they’re doing and doesn’t feel like gears since Epic left. But I’d give anything to play gears 1-3 multiplayer again as they was my best moments with this series.

As a GoW veteran, it's hilarious watching you be a newbie trying to clear the hardest difficulty. You actually struggled with a lot of parts I found easy, and I inversely struggled with a lot of spots not highlighted in the video. The only oddity to me was how lethal the Lambent were to you. I don't remember them being all that dangerous, even on Insane. The most rage-inducing shit was definitely the Torque Bow. You can't even melee Theron Guards if they have a shot active, since there's a 95% chance it sticks you, or just hits the floor under you feet and kills you anyway. You can usually saw them safely, but the games are finicky about when/if you are invincible during a chainsaw animation in the campaign.

Pro tip if you ever get stuck by a torque bow then immediately chainsaw the closest enemy you find as if you can chainsaw an enemy the game will forget you were stuck to begin with giving you 100% damage resistance until the chainsaw animation ends. This only works in story mode for most of the games as far as I have seen.

A "Fun" achievement to go for would be the For Honor campaign on realistic difficulty. It was a pain but I had a lot of fun doing it at the same time.

Ah yes the good ol insanity achievement in all the gears games is an experience i won't soon forget. It is amazing and a bit frustrating at times to go for this achievement I'm glad snam is finally getting to my favorite series in all of gaming and that he's enjoying it

"active reload fails" reminds me of something i heard somewhere... there's an achievement for succeeding at the "active reload" microgame FIFTY TIMES IN A ROW.

i remember when me and a friend of mine completed gow on every difficulty in one day, Insane mode took longer than the rest but felt somehow easier than the easiest difficulty(the fact that we used to just fuck around during the berserker mission, could have some effect kekw) GOW is a great game with lot of hilarious memories :D

I remember the way The Completionist got the 10,000 kills was by playing the remaster on Xbox One, which has the option for Japanese servers, even though the Xbox One is not sold in Japan, and just asking his subs to help him.

too this day OG gears campaigns have been some of the toughest campaigns ive done of any video game. I still cant believe I did it twice. Once on the 360 and on the ultimate edition. the train before the RAAM fight is burned into my brain

Beat this mode with my brother. When we killed Ramm controllers were (later regrettably) smashed in joy.

With RAAM a trick is to blind fire torgue bow and constanly active reload each shot espically the ones when the krill are no longer covering his body and when he approaches the cover you spawn behind have 4 greandes and throw them all. After that if RAAM doesn't die spray and pray with the other primary gun you've.

Doing this as a kid was the most rage inducing thing ever I went through. I got so mad I stopped playing for and put in a different game which I had never heard of it just so happened to be Dragon Age Orgins and my love for RPG's blossomed from there I never went back and got this achievement.
