I haven't watched this yet. But now I want to. Because I saw the scene from episode 6 and thought the Voice acting and the music was just amazing. And I also 25. So 10 years older than 15, but I still read stuff written for 14 year olds. I just think that stuff is cool. You should watch SAO abridged. Stoner Kirito is the best version of Kirito ever made. I just remembered. Is SAO still running? The Novel, I mean. I am a teenager and I love power fantasies. They are just so cool!
Reminds me actually solo levelling was one of the manwha (that im aware of atleast) that really popularized the "tower" stuff. Its pretty much korea's isekai nowadays.
8:20 I think the solo Leveling pacing is great, though I do believe the 1st 2 eps would have been better as a double premier, and in terms of content, I like the anime more since they add stuff from the LN and some anime original scenes so that the side characters aren’t as lacklustre and makes Early Sung Jin (drip) woo seem less like an edge lord. In the manhwa, it always (early drip woo) seems as though he was getting stronger for the sake of it but in the anime, while still being a badass cool mc, you can still tell why he’s getting stronger and that it’s for the same reasons he became a hunter in the first place. "An Irregular's Magic Should Be Special" is another manwha adaptation, but it's one that I both absolutely did not expect even a little AND confused me because all the characters have hair made of oil or something. Not bad tho.
my biggest complaint to the manwa is the ending the WN/LN had a much better ending and a very good epilouge with Jin Woo's son who is now the MC of the next story, and unlike Bort Jin Woo isn't getting replaced in power by his son, he is an immortal god in all rights.
My friends and I used to stream whenever a new episode came out over discord, laughing over the many inconsitencies compared to the manwha, the many instances of horrible frames and qlso watching many episodes in 2x speed since half of the episodes are characters just yapping. What a show
While the source material has absolutely gorgeous art, it had fallen off drastically after about 33% of the story. The beginning was the juiciest part of it, that's for sure. Couldn't stop reading. Second half is... generic. I can read good, or bad-and-funny, but generic is just a death rattle of any story. Unsure how anime differs from that, but i guess i'll find out soon.
It's basically the same idea as Solo Leveling, but aimed at an older audience, or at least a less edgy one. Same core of a guy who should be dead now able to level up past his previous limits. But slower paced, more character development, bit more world building, and so on.
@@Axterix13 I personally wouldn't add "a little bit of world building" to that list. If there's one thing I didn't like about the anime adaptation is that almost all the monologuing done by the MC was unceremoniously skipped. It was done for the sake of time, of course, but most of the world building lied in those. A bit of a shame, really.
Solo Leveling is legitimately awesome! The only problem I would say it has is the cringy, random exposition dumps that seem very contrived. Otherwise, despite being very cliche, it does what it sets out to do---be totally hype.
Rewatching Solo Levelling right now, I really wish they gave it the Oshi no Ko treatment. The anime was okay, but it did not do the artstyle of the manhwa justice. The japanese arise should have been like "I am atomic" from the eminence in shadow. The anime was okay but it did not utilize the medium completely.
Solo leveling is literally SAO on steroids minus the cringe dialouges and harem BS. The webtoon has spectacular art but nothing else about it is revolutionary. So yeah a perfect anime for 14 year olds and people who like to watch brain-turn-off entertainment like myself👍

The pacing reminds me of tower of god, but becasue i know what happens it became boring for me. Like i just watch the episodes to see if he does the thing.
3:50 i was still not interested in the anime/manwha UNTIL OITHPQITGPOTJGF THEY MADE A ONE PUNCH MAN REFERENCE. i am now slightly more inclined to read this. But to be honest this looks like a story where guys or girls become strong and that's it, like, cool for you i guess but, hm, now what (edit, i can't believe it really is just that) WOW THEY UN-TWINKIFIED HIM?? yeah I'm not watching that, it's not even funny at this point. I can excuse the story but the "he grew tall and buff as opposed to his past trashy self"? That's some 2002 kind of bullshit right there and makes the character visually forgettable because he now looks like any random shonen boy. The art in the manwha does indeed look good, but it's.. let's just say, as writers we all start somewhere, can't wait to see how this author will improve.
