I've wanted something like that for motorsports ever since I saw a H.U.D. In a car, but with glasses you can switch vehicles and keep the hud- Speed, RPM, temps, etc. maybe even lap time or road/ track/ turn info.
I honestly don't think this is going to stand up against even the other AR glasses we've seen with their limited FOVs. I think most people will wait for actual AR glasses with full color wider FOVs and 6 DOF interactions.
I am cooling down for VR after some time of owning PICO4... and i will only get my next VR headset in 10-15 years, when there is hardware and software revolution. BUT... I am really hyped about this kind of tech - AR glasses. Maybe in 3-5 years a really nice pair of glasses hits the market at a right price. will get one for sure. You can see all your incoming messages, you see navigation prompts, you can see weather, news and so on without having to reach down for you phone in your pocket. Or drop or answer a call by sliding a finger on the rim if there is a mic and speakers installed... Hope people wont stop developing the tech. It will rock the world provided done right...
This is nice. HUD is now very mature in terms of hardware. Hoping that one day motorcycle helmet makers continue on developing a smart helmet as well with this type of technology.
yea but most new and innovating things arent cheap.. same as HDTVs when they were new. Go say that to Apple vision pro which is INSAAAANELY overpriced and barely offers anything useful on it. tbh $799 for an instant translator right in front of your eyes isnt bad at all. this thing is much more useful than apple vision pro and other glasses
@@heyjeySigma The instant translator is the phone. These just offer a very small monochrome HUD. Hardly worth even half the asking price, IMO. As for the Apple Vision Pro - I'm the furthest from an Apple fan - not even an Apple customer, but that thing is a computer you wear on your face that can actually replace both the laptop and iPad functionality in one device. It's not so insanely expensive if you consider the form factor a viable replacement for those two devices. That's up to the individual to be willing to use it in that way.
@@DMan-ud6bt while i agree with you on the translator thing...i do NOT agree with you on the vision pro.. it's a piece of severely overpriced nonsense, and comparing a VERY closed Apple ecosystem with extremely limited apps that the vision pro actually has and confirmed to have, vs a dang computer that can run all those apps, games, VR, advanced programs.. is pretty daaamn insulting to Windows OS and even Linux.
@@heyjeySigmathe travel case for the vision is $200 lmao. Everything associated with the vision,.including it,.is the most insane apple tax I've ever seen.
@@heyjeySigma You misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying it can effectively replace a Macbook and iPad. I did not mean it could replace a freakin' Windows PC that can run AAA games and SteamVR.
If using during driving, with a the right App, it could replace the dashbord of the car. It could become a drinving safety improvement device. Does it make sense?
Meta doesn’t even let you develop on top of their glasses. These are developer versions. I think they’re opening a new manufacturing plant which will lower the price
