That terra cotta pot is gorgeous. It's a classic. The gazanias are a huge pop of bright color. Pentas love the heat so they will be very happy. If you are ever looking for a way to occupy space in a large planter like that, I use pool noodles from the dollar store. They work really well and you can easily cut them up to size if you need.
Few things. Have you shown us the current state of the earlier planting. Know you did a bee, butterfly pot, how is it doing. Next does your Calif location actually have seasons. Perennials vs annuals. And I love shopping with you cuz I enjoy the trip and doesn’t cost me anything. Love your videos. Tfs cheers
Hi! I have not done a follow up video on my earlier arrangement but I do take lots of pictures of them on my instagram account @The_Singing_Gardener :)
Vanessa Lieveld Hi! Yes, gardening can be a bit pricey... I don’t even want to know how much I’ve spent on plants 😂 but I also think gardening is such a gratifying and rewarding hobby 😊 thanks for watching my video 💚
Bella! Bella!! My nursery is not as lovely as yours . I haven’t seen those hue of colours. Love the yellow, orange , etc. This is a stunning combo! Next year, I may try to replicate this combo. Thanks for the ideas . Gardening isn’t an inexpensive hobby but it’s so much fun and joy when you see the beauty of nature .
Your garden is beautiful! Very colorful and peaceful. You have done a fantastic job! Enjoyed seeing your little dog. The flower combinations in the pot are perfect! Why are you the "Singing Gardener"?
Hi Dil. Yes the beast had to go. It exceeded its overtime. It had ravaged the pot as if it were on a feeding frenzy. Lol. The new set-up looks wonderful. The combination of colors and the arrangements are simply gorgeous, (candy for the eyes). I would never criticize the Master, but.........a little suggestion. The pot is big, strong and lovely. A little bit of ivy dripping over the sides would soften the borders of the pot. Another suggestion, clear the area of impaling plants. Lol. Please take us with you when you go shopping for those big big pots. Enjoy your week.
Hi, that is a great suggestion! I really didn't want to be at the nursery too long so I had to make quick decisions with which plants I was going to use for this arrangement. Normally I would be there for at least an hour.. LOL
It really is a gorgeous combo, I especially love that Pentas! I just wish all the Gazanias could keep their blooms open even when the sun goes down, they do look amazing when they are open!
I think you could’ve removed ½ of that fleabane, fertilized it and watched it regrow! Lol. Just saying! Surprised at such a small rootball too. If it were me, I might have even just deadheaded the spent blooms and dead leaves. In actuality, Mexican fleabane is like legit a weed. Its seeds spread far and wide, and it grows in cracks on sidewalks, on dry, exposed coastal cliffs in Socal/Baja, and can handle salty ocean air with no rain. That’s why it’s so tough but also why it’s relentless at times. You don’t wanna spoil it too much with water, shade and food because it doesn’t even require all that. If you let ‘em “starve” a bit, let ’em get a little stressed, but just enough… that keeps them in check. Same with anything drought tolerant. Spoil it, watch it go crazy or die. Stress it, watch the colors go crazy and the growth tighten up a bit.
