This morning we head out in search of some early season snapper! This is our 2nd trip out this season and using some ultra fresh baits we end up having some suprising results!

Lovely fish. I normally let the line just float on the surface that way the Snapper can pickup the bait and swim off with it then set the hook its self. Just like your hookup.

Good on you buddy, catch n release, hone those skills in, fish as light as possible ( current ) Pending, 600 trace or running sinker in deep water, snapper will rise to take a bait, I fish in 100 meters of Moreton in Brisbane, top of reef at 87m , that run they do is awesome, then the head shakes, good stuff

quick tip for using squid leave the guts in and don't worry about making it look like a squid when you make a strip the fish want the guts way more than the outside just make a strip with the guts attached and try it it works great

I use the gut as a seperate bait, if you leave the gut on the strip it falls off on the cast..

Big fan of your videos Nev, but can't say I agree with using $70 per kg KGW as bait to catch $18 per kg snapper. Yes the thrill and fight of a Snapper is hard to beat but still..

Hey mate, not like there is a shortage of KGW in my waterways in fact they are very common. Only reason prices per kg are so high is because commercial anglers struggle to catch them If I want to give my shot at catching big fish I have to use eating quality baits eg) squid, whiting, trevally
