Haven't really cared about NBA 2K in ages, but I recently got back into Live 19. I always thought it was an underappreciated gem despite its flaws and consistently have more fun playing it than any 2K in recent memory. It's good to see other people also revisiting older basketball games; they're tired of the stranglehold 2K has on basketball.

So we all just been back on live recently? Game would be fire if contest, cpu, passing, animation locks and more gamemodes were fixed/added. Still love playing the game though
For me it's the constant lagouts I can find games easy I just can't finish most but I think it due to bad Internet I'm tryna reach icon and get all the achievements I'm 2 away
Been an NBA Live player actively since 2004 and an EA Basketball player since 1989. I would love to see a new version come out. I'm still playing Live 19. It's my favourite of the recent releases. More enjoyable than 2K23 and 2K24.
Live was going to drop a free to play game this year where they would jist update it per year instead of the yearly release. But the NBA shut it down bet2k would lose too mich money. From the reports i read. People trashed this game so mich when it came out and its overall better then 2k os now besides some of the game play.

I don't think the 2k players and Madden players care if there are microtransactions, I think it's just that we want good games and the competition that would force them to make better games
Tf we don’t.. micro transactions are fine they are in every game but when it gets to the point where it’s 20 dollars for a pair of pants.. 50 dollars just to get your player to a 87 overall.. plus another 20 to make sure he gets to 99. Not to mention if your build doesn’t come out right or they patch what your build is good at, you either have to make a new build or play at a disadvantage
And that’s not even the end of it 😂 if you’re a small guard you have to spend money on boost for stamina, there’s all different animations, the season pass, I mean it’s crazy. If you genuinely want to have fun on 2k you have to spend a lot of money on the game. 2k will go down in history as the most expensive game to play of all time
I think since because lives look was before it’s time before said it LOOKED bad when in all reality it just played a lil funny but with some tweaks is actually kind of nice because when 2k was transitioning to this type of look people called me crazy but this doesn’t look to far off from a last gen 2k as far as on court looks go and I’m happy people are starting to realize what they had
Had EA not taken us for granted they would still be the main basketball game on consoles. I used to purchase EA Sports NBA Live every year back then. But at some point EA was barely improving the game on a yearly basis and 2K came out with a much better product. Furthermore, we were lucky EA couldn't (or didn't) purchase the NBA license to prevent other companies from making better NBA games (the way they did with Madden vs ESPN NFL 2K5). In the end, when there's a better product available, the bad game dies out. Hopefully EA learned their lesson and they come back with a game that will give 2K a run for their money.
They wouldn't make you spend money on this today. I've been playing fifa pro clubs since fifa 10 and not once have I had the option to spend money on my own player.

Unfortunately for us fans of basketball, gameplay is still what matters most...and 2K's is just polished and honed at a whole other level. It took a massive investment of tens of millions or more, to get these animations right, collision, movement, fluidity...EA knew they will need to throw a lot more money into it to compete, and so they gave up
Live is just a more fun & casual experience. For all the money 2K puts into their gameplay, it's still perhaps as equally frustrating on top of being pay to win.
