I don't even play current games. I'm not paying $60 for a game. I only play FREE to download games like 2k22. MyGm has all the fun I need. I'm never playing competitively online.
also the last time i bought any dlc or microtransaction was buying chaos orbs for path of exile, which is one of the greatest free games ever so i didn't feel that bad and it's also money going to another gamer who looted the items in game rather than just paying GOG (dev studio). i only did that a few times with builds that i enjoyed enough to 'perfect' the meta and get the best possible gear. usually i was only an item or two away and used them to get it quicker, and start working on some of the more advanced levels of the game once i had the build OP enough to melt everyone on screen.
Bro ive gotten to a point where im playing 3on3 freestyle because at least when i spend money, i keep my shit. The sad thing is that a shitty cash grab game from 2016 is actually more fun than 2k and im hooked 😂😂
Honestly 2k nba just needs to add different game modes to further fun experience. Every year is thr same game modes. Turn 2k into a GTA it'll be way more fun to play simple
Just bought 2k for the first time since like 2k8 ... it has literally gotten worse in the 15 years ive been away. Thats so crazy i woukdnt have even believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Modern 2k is just gambling bloatware masquerading as a game. Never buying anything 2k ever again
The series peaked with 2k7, lol. I remember playing NBALive06, with Dwade on the cover. The game was absolutely ASS. 2K7 saved us from that. Now, 2k has lived long enough to become the villain. We need NBALive to come make a good basketball game again and save us
I played 2k since 2k09, used to play with my brother and did my career when it came out which is awesome as an idea. I bought 2k24 but I won’t buy another again. After a week my career gets old and repetitive doing bullshit side missions and random key games which make no sense. Playing online you literally can’t play decent defence unless you know the glitches. 7ft centre 99 standing dunk can’t dunk on a 6’7 shooting centre who hits every three but he puts his hands up in the paint and you miss every layup. For a lot of casual players who play when they have time it’s just not enjoyable online. A lot of people feel the same way. The gameplay is flawed and it seems to get lazier and lazier every year
I laughed at seeing 2k24 for free on PS Extra. They don't care about making money off of the initial transaction of buying the game, they want to funnel you into their store to get you spending your money VC. The abuse is so blatant at this point it's laughable. However, it's not just 2k sticking their hands in your pocket the second you open the game, all sports games are doing this. This is the future till enough people get sick of it; very little innovation or pretend innovation, and slowly creeping in new ways they can charge you for things that were previously available for free.
I think it's really important to talk about the difference in quality of games between different platforms. I can not understand for the life of me how PC is still last gen. The quality of last-gen is incredibly atrocious and people buy it because WE LIKE BASKETBALL. No one cares about the fact that it's bad or that it's 2k because we're all basketball fans. 2k as a franchise has made it apparent over and over that they are not caring in the slightest about basketball. How in the hell do the NBA as a company allow such insanely sub-par quality control. Basketball games represent a global playerbase of shitty bball players that can fuck on the joysticks. 2k is the weakest link in the NBA. It's not even that close.

i dont spent money on 2k and looking at that 25k shirt im speechless i grind about 2-3 hours to update for example my rebounding from a 74 to a 78 and getting one badge upgrade

The show does micro trans good. They legit tell to play and not buy coins. I never bought coins and still pulled a trout 24/24 card that if u bought coins, it'd take 3 grand to buy the coins to buy that game
Basically, I stopped playing that game because it requires you to buy a new version every year. Everybody that buys the new version enables that. They do not care about bringing you the best version of the game if you’re just going to buy it no matter what. I’m not gonna be one of those people. I don’t need to play other people online and there are plenty of other games to play. I still play basketball IRL so that hoops competition is fulfilled in that way.
The glory days of the whole video game industry for the consumers is sadly behind us. We will never get quality games again..however for corporate it is their golden age
Got sick of buying vc for builds and jumped to my team..not to be competitive but to do the challenges and just enjoy the gameplay for free. I'm glad I did it. I enjoy the game again
