A thoroughly entertaining and detailed review. It should come as no surprise that this Himalayan, or indeed any Enfield, handles well as RE acquired Harris Performance over 10 years ago. Harris is a well-respected and hugely experienced chassis design and engineering company that has competed at the highest level, and it's clear that RE is putting their expertise in frame and suspension design to good use. Looking forward to your full review of the Guerilla!
It's such a gorgeous bike. I've always liked the idea of getting an adv bike but I've never liked that they tend to look sport-bike like with all the crazy sharp angles and flat planes. The Himalayan 450 looks like a classic motorcycle. It's so damn good looking.
Love the video, so much different than what I usually see on this channel, I have been looking at this bike for a commuter bike and seeing how comfortable you looked as a guy 5"10 250 this made me give it some props over the KLR.
If this bike can survive the apocalypse with minor maintenance and it can get in the free way or at least tops at 80 not that I’d go that fast in it then I’m all for it
It has modes, which means an ECU... So, as long as the apocalypse doesn't involve an EMP, maybe you'll be okay. Could always turn your garage into a Faraday cage.
@@Anonymous-jj9yuthe dr650 doesnt its emp proof. If the emp hits you just keep driving even right through during you dont need to putnit in a sealed faraday cage or nothin
Message de France 🇫🇷 la meilleure moto que j'ai pu avoir entre mes mains ! Le moteur et les suspensions sont incroyables, merci Royal Enfield pour ce petit bijou 👍🏻
My man! This is exactly what I wanted to see! I am a new rider and want and adv, but have been debating between this as a more budget friendly option or sprining for a transalp, and haven't made up my mind. Buuut, as a big buy myself, this was so nice to see someone closer to my specs riding it and have giving me a bit more to chew on. Great work mate!
hey can you put some form of warning at the very beginning for people with epilepsy. the flickering on dashboard was too much for me had to forward that part
Would you say that it splits the difference between dual-sport and light adv tourer? my xr650l is great on trails, but sux on hwy for longer than 60miles, my vstrom 650 eats the road but frankly is kinda scary on anything more than a nice forest road.. this bike has my interest... need to cruise 65-75+mph at times since I'm out west...
I liked your video. I think I am going to look at this model along with the new CF Moto 450. I want a less expensive model to ride mostly gravel roads and some single track. I have a 1200 Tiger to do my ADV and road riding but is a little heavy for dirt in my opinion. You and Dork in the Road had pretty similar comments on the Himalayan.
@@dad2468 you can even consider scrambler 400X also made for both road and offroad also , yeah tiger indeed is heavy for offroading , Himalayan 450 would be a decent choice too. Reason why cf moto didn't launch much in India is their spares availablity and poor service network which didn't go well so people didn't consider it in options also either.
I had the chance to test this RE Himalayan and the CFMoto 450MT/IBEX450... difficult choice. I went for the IBEX for the two cilinder,, weight, less vibration and much better suspension, but it was not an easy choice. In my country RE has a much better service, but the suspension and the weight are very relevant to me. I hope I made the right choice, but the Himalayan is a solid alternative. I can always sale the IBEX if it doesn't perform as expected :) Great video!
@hdslytro387 how can a motorcycle with a full metal fuel tank, heavier full weight, and lower quality suspensions be "more off road focused"? That makes no sense, mate. The Himalayan is more travel focused, in my opinion.
Definitely interesting. I typically buy 10-15 year old garage queens with less than 10,000 mi on the clock. Wonder how cheap this will be in 10 years. 😇 Honestly though... As long as they hold up, should hold its value
I have spoked tubeless on mine here in the UK. Seems each counties authorities for testing is the bottleneck, shame for you, but hopefully you will get them soon.
Yep, I picked up my summit hanle black two weeks ago here in Sweden. Tubeless. And the dealer already had an demobike with tubeless when I ordered mine early july. @@idontwantahandle12345
@@shubhromu They offer a Hanle Black in both Tubed and Tubeless and the Kamet White in Tubeless only. There is a slight increase in cost, which I think was about £250 here in UK. I have Kamet white.
Everything ay... 4th gear clutch up wheelies at 80kph?? sorry you'll need a 693cc 690 weapon for that, just be sure ur phone is charged in case you break down, worth it tho💥
If you're in the US, why do you use metric measurements? I see it all the time from people in the UK or other countries, but I have never used it. I have to use a converter.
When I watch some US videos I have to convert to metric! 😂. It does seem only US are not using metric for a lot of spec and tech explanations. It must be hard for early reviews as all the details are normally released in metric.
slowly with a lot of weight ,better bike 50 years ago eg yamaha xt 500 40 kgs lighter same power much better looking, sorry to say te are all underpowered overweight
