Hubby and I respect you dearly. We have a great amount of respect for you supporting black own businesses. Thank you again for doing such a great job. You and your wife are awesome!!!!!! God bless you to the fullest!!
THAT'S where Young's Candy Shop used to be!! 😫 if you've ever watched the movie Beloved starring Oprah Winfrey, there's a scene where she buys all this candy for the dead daughter. Young's Candy Shop made all of the candy for the movie. Great to see the hardwood floors still in place Sooo many childhood memories in that shop, now I have to go Saturday and get some hoagies. ❤️
Shot to Philly from Delaware after the video dropped. These women are amazing. The JL push is real. They were backed up because they were swamped. That patience and understanding from the people waiting was all love. That hit roast beef was topnotch. Breaking down the all beef Italian next. Game Changers all around food and staff.
Hubby and I tried this spot after your video dropped. Loved the Turkey'd Out was so damn good and the meat and the roll so fresh. We got our son a cup of ice cream and that was delicious as well. Definitely will be back ❤.
JL put his hand up like he was in church after eating that delicious looking hoagie. Spiritual experience, JL eh? I would love a hoagie right about now. I won't lie.
I JUST found out about this NON PORK sub & ice cream shop! I shared this video with my people, & plan on visiting TOMORROW 7/13/24! A Black owned, clean food restaurant that fits into my dietary lifestyle is EPIC! Shalom 🦁 all!
JL, my man 💪. I stopped by there today. Definitely did not disappoint. The onions were burning my eyes a little while I was waiting for my order. And the customer service was all that! Good Jawn. I'm going to Jamillahs tomorrow!
I tried this jawn last Friday and let me tell yall no disappoint at all. That no pork Italian was a problem! My expectations has to be low trying any new spots but this right here was the truth!!😂😂💯🤝🏽
Im in Harrisburg its going to be a day trip on amtrak to go grab some food from here. As a jew born in Chicago whose great grandpa came to the usa through the port of Philadelphia in nineteen twenty two, it is my duty to support places like this. Way to work hard and stay committed to good food. And thanks for bringing this to my attention. Im gonna get a dozen cookies and a classic Italian.
@@tallman369 i keep trying to leave you my email and it keeps censoring me. corporate america baby. if we can figure out a way to be in touch off of youtube, i have many many ideas for harrisburgs food scene.
Definitely been looking for a good all beef Italian since my old spot on K&A turned into dope head zombie land. Chicken Caesar looked 🔥as well. *I will be stopping thru next week! Thx JL*
She spit some fax. There were no good hoagie spots that uses quality meats like Boers head or Dietz and Watson, in North Philly all the way to uptown you had to go to South Philly. where I am from to get a great hoagie so salute to black businesses
As they say, you eat with your eyes first. The presentation looked delicious, and you being from Philly, I trust your opinion about good bread and sandwiches. I'm freaking hungry now....😆
Hello JL I just love your reviews, thx. I have spoken to you via internet a few times, I'm the brother that lives in Phoenix AZ and I tried to catch you doing the super bowl but I could not trick you down. But look home slice you are the man for me with the reviews, I was in the food game for 42 plus years and 99% of the time I agree with you. The other 1% is that I'm not there. But look hang in there and one of these days we will meet face to face. Much Love to you and Family, Darrylk
We had a black owned soul food restaurant in the neighborhood. The owner would open at least an hour late everyday and when he did finally show up it took another hour to get the food going. He went out of business in 2 seconds. That old guy was a riot 😂
That's a straight shot right up Girard for me. You have to check Quillio's on 61st and Thompson right by the 19th district. Another good black owned hoagie shop.
More power to ya!!!!! ❤️🖤💚 I’m originally from the 15 hundred block of Lehigh ave and when I come back to visit I’ll definitely be stopping in 😋. WISHING YOU MUCH SUCCESS ✊🏾 I miss my Philly food.
Hey JL. You talking about a good looking hoagie. You are a hoagie man fosho. I know your wife tells you that. I respect tho bcse I love them. Enjoy!! 🐞❤️
Thank you JL for showing us black owned establishments that does not get the attention that other businesses do. I saw a man crying in the comments about you showing black own restaurants as if reality does not show how many of our businesses struggle because because of lack of promotion and other races tending not to support black owned businesses in large numbers. Facts are facts. I will make my way to this business to support. Thanks JL
You dont need to shout "im black" to be successful. You honestly contradict yaself hard there honey. "Nobody support black business.." then why shout im black? Do italians shout im italian? Do mexican stores shout im mexican? No. You walk in and feel a culture. Plenty of african food shops in the northeast let alone south or badlands. Maybe its the area that makes it tough.
