Dust in the wind; Point of Know return….if you haven’t ….check those out.❤️🎶❤️Rock n roll is the party that doesn’t stop, we’ve got so many flavors to choose from….enjoy your journey and 🤘 rock on 🤘
What many people don't realize is that this entire recording, the one we're listening to, the one that was released to the public, start to finish, was recorded in one take. There are no splices, overdubs, double tracks, or anything like that. Rich Williams, Kansas guitarist, revealed this in an interview many years ago. He said it was recorded in a simple studio and there were no tricks to getting it done, other than they had to do it right! He didn't say how many times they tried it, but knowing that they did this version perfectly in one take is impressive.
Your reactions are the absolute best! You don't stop the momentum of the song to pause and talk. You show your reaction and talk about it at the end. Well done!
Thank You JM for this reaction. It did just what I said it would...."BLOW YOU AWAY"...Kansas has six of the finest musicians on the planet that will totally blow your mind… Steve Walsh - Keyboards/INCREDIBLE Vocals…Robby Steinhardt - Most incredible Violin Player and vocals….Kerry Livgren-Guitar Wizard… Rich Williams - 2nd Guitar Wizard…. Dave Hope - BAD ASS BASS…. Phil Ehart - My Favorite Drummer. You will enjoy this journey into KANSAS. A very sophisticated group making exceptional music. “It’s like, stuffing my ears with like, the greatest stuff I’ve ever heard” You said that, And Yes this music did “Light Up The Streets”
Saw them live in the early 80's - fantastic. Lead guitarist-Kerry Livgren, Drummer-Phil Earhardt and the only original member left. White tux - Rich Williams, HAIR- Robbie Steinhardt-electric violin, Dave Hope-bassist, and THE SINGER Steve Walsh. This is the anthem for the tv show Supernatural.
Carry on, my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more Once I rose above the noise and confusion Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion I was soaring ever higher But I flew too high Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man Though my mind could think, I still was a mad man I hear the voices when I'm dreaming I can hear them say Carry on, my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more Masquerading as a man with a reason My charade is the event of the season And if I claim to be a wise man, well It surely means that I don't know On a stormy sea of moving emotion Tossed about, I'm like a ship on the ocean I set a course for winds of fortune But I hear the voices say Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more, no Carry on, you will always remember Carry on, nothing equals the splendor Now your life's no longer empty Surely heaven waits for you Carry on, my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry, don't you cry no more
All top shelf players. Back in the days when you could not create an album with a laptop. Thanks for featuring this and showing people how talented Kansas was and is. Why were they never inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame? Because the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame is BS.
I love how they are dressed as if they didn't plan to make this the video. It looks like they each got a call to come to shoot it now, and they just showed up in whatever they were wearing.
LOVE the look on your face when Kerry hit that solo......Imagine being 30 feet away from them Too Cool Your experience with Kansas TOO FUNNY From "Dust In The Wind" to this little piece of music.... you noticed they Plugged-In. I'm laughing the entire time. Wait till you hear this...."Magnum Opus" This foolish game, oh it's still the same The notes go flyin' off in the air And don't you believe it's true, the music is all for you It's really all we've got to share Cause Rockin' and Rollin', it's only howlin' at the Moon It's only howlin' at the Moon
Thank you so much for not pausing the song or talking over it. Another song by Kansas that I would like to hear you react to is: "Fight Fire With Fire"
Over 300 concerts... Pink Floyd... Supertramp... Kansas, ZZ Top, Yes, Santana, Rush, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Allman Bros, Peter Frampton, The Who, Rod Stewart, Eagles, Don Henley, many others are my favorite shows I've ever seen. Kansas Is #3 for good reasons.
I first saw KANSAS in Milwaukee in 1974. They were the opening act for Hawkwind. While I never followed Hawkwind after that, I've loved KANSAS ever since.
Subscribed and Liked! Nice to see how much you dig Kansas. Since this album came out almost 50 years ago, they've been one of my favorite bands. Great musicians, all. But what I like best is the Christian undertones in the lyrics of a lot of their songs, including this one. Powerful stuff, man! Thanks for the reaction,.
That's a great reaction video. Most people that do reaction videos don't shut up long enough to hear the song. They pause during the best parts. It drives me nuts. You kept quiet and soaked it all in, really listening to the awesome musicians do their thing. I can tell you know good music when you hear it, and you appreciate it.
Kansas is one of many classic rock bands from the seventies. Others include Styx, Foreigner, and Boston. There are many more. Enjoy your ride to the best music decade ever.
Back in the day when this was hot for some reason Kansas NEVER played in Nebraska. I lived there so a buddy and I had to go to Red Rocks, CA (God's Cathedral). Very well worth the trip and a nice ride on a couple of Harleys with our girls. 300 miles each way with roughly $1 a gallon for gas on bikes. Hell yeah.😎😎 I've seen them since then with the new band members in Reno (Harrah's former outdoor venue) Still killin' it. I still have this LP./Album. "Point of Know Return" and "Dust in the Wind" are two other awesome songs from that era 45 years ago. They're still played on classic rock radio. "Surely Heaven waits for you"😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Kerry, the blond guy, was involved in writing the majority of their songs, with the rest involved in different way with different songs. He’s pretty much a lyric genius.
This was the theme song for a movie called Heroes starring Henry Winkler and Sally Field you should check that movie out it was awesome the song was played for that
"Dust in the Wind" -- Kansas (1978) is unforgettable!! Thanks again, JM. : o ) This one has more strings. Anyway, they're all beautiful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HfS5hpkr_20.html
Hey JM, I've been paying attention, you have gained around 100 New Subscribers Per Day for the past few weeks. It must be that smile. You have NO Dislikes in all your videos. I might give you one just for the fun of it, BUT it certainly won't be on a Kansas reaction.
Several members of the band are classical trained composers. Check out Miracles Out Of Nowhere to see their classical trained music writing at their best.
If you like the sounds of Kansas here are four more of their best songs: 1) Dust In The Wind 2) Fight Fire With Fire 3) Hold On (Great ballad!) 4) Play The Game Tonight. Enjoy!
I know a few people my age that paid $20,000 or more to buy fake teeth that only look half as good as this guy. The cool thing is the smile is genuine.
FYI Not sure if you are aware but the audio is the studio version of the song, while the artists are lip-syncing for the video. I've been listening to this album since it came out, and it can account for some of my hearing loss! I still crank it up...
Check out their songs Song For America, The Wall, Lamplight Symphony, Point Of No Return, Magnum Opus, Reason To Be, Cheyenne Anthem, Hold On. Just a start to their abundance or of songs to react to!♥️✌️🎸🥁🎹
Check out the drummer throughout this video….seems like he didn’t want to be involved in this video….shows absolute no interest or energy…….at least fake it a little better for the bands sake….
do DOWN THE ROAD live 1976 on u tube -fasten your seatbelt -this was the ROCKIN 70's and we loved it when they rocked us with that one too! they opened for the stones in 78
