The Australian Railway Heritage Society's Bookshop is located in Alexandria on Henderson Road, very nearby to the upcoming Waterloo Metro Station. The bookstore has a wide range of offerings, from books on railway history, to old maps, beautiful photographs of old trains and railways, and even old memorobillia from different eras of rail in Sydney. I'd strongly recommend a visit; the team at the bookstore are really friendly, and there's just such a rich collection of history located within the walls of this incredible store.

Thanks for watching everyone! If you wanna visit the ARHS Bookstore, here's the Google Maps address: www.google.com/maps/place/Australian+Railway+Historical+Society/@-33.8965659,151.1986335,15z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x6b12b1e81fc6eed7:0x9725ce15b2b45346!8m2!3d-33.8965659!4d151.1986335!16s%2Fg%2F11j6_s4rn5?entry=ttu And check out their website here: arhsnsw.com.au/ This video was different to usual, and wasn't actually really in my official schedule. I actually wanted to get a different longer video out today, but I'm waiting for approval for that video from certain higher-up people 👀it'll be out soon, get excited!

Both my grandfathers. my mum and dad worked for NSW railways all their lives. Wife now works for TfNSW. 22 yo son was a Sydney Trains guard, then driver , now NSW Trains driver. So proud of our family railway heritage. Don't quite know how but I joined the cops. 😟 We donated a stack of stuff to the Goulburn Heritage Museum. Thanks Sharath from a fellow West Penno resident.

I’ve not been to the store yet but I am a member. I recently bought that first book shown “A tale of two systems” and so far it has been a very interesting read! The Waterloo Metro station will be quite convenient for the store once it opens.

I am pleased that this brilliant institution has been given some well deserved exposure to the very people who are most likely to appreciate it! I have known about it for decades and have been to their former premises in Redfern and Central , including during the pandemic when there was a severe restriction on numbers of customers who could be in the shop any one time , due to limited space at Central . I am quite surprised that there seems to be so many railway enthusiasts who are not aware of this historical resource !

I went there in october when i was up in Sydney for a few weeks. Great place and super helpful staff. I spent wayyyyy too much money there (like in the several hundreds of dollars range) and don't have any regrets. Even managed to score a Microsoft Train Simulator disc, which came out over 20 years ago. Also grabbed a copy of that tale of two systems book

I would love it if you could provide us a tour of the Bombala Line (Snowy Mountains), and other defunct rail lines. There are a few RU-vidrs who already do this but it would be nice to see you add to it.

Here is an idea Australia upgrade the broken hill line to HSR 217mph and build a bypass tunnel through the mountains between st Mary’s and Parkles of course between existing stations. Then revive the connecting branch lines run branch lines at bi hourly headways minimum.
