"I owe you my life!" This hits harder when you think of how many ways he means that. Zeff kept him alive on that rock. He told him the All Blue is real and that his dream is worth following. Zeff helped him refine his craft as a cook. Zeff taught him how to fight without using his hands (a chef's most vital asset). And Zeff pushed him out the door because he didn't want his dream to die, even though it's hurting them both to do it.
Exactly. People watch to see the real emotions you feel when watching something. if it makes you cry, then cry. if it makes you hyped, then be hyped. As long as its genuine, that's what most of us are here for. So don't be afraid to cry.
One Piece is one of those shows where crying or getting emotional is part of the experience of enjoying it. There are uplifting moments, gut wrenching moments, and everything in between. It's a sign of a good show when you feel this deeply for the characters.
22:38 Sanji in the anime especially is legs for days. He's like 2/3 leg. But the actor Taz Skylar trained hard for the role to be able to kick like that too. Like 10 hours a day for months. He even took cooking lessons.
Nami's first instinct when she sees Arlong is to tell the crew to run away, and I'm surprised that most reactors completely forget about this when it's revealed that she works for him 😂
I like that you take a lot of notes and try to analyze the story and characters. I wish more reactors did that sort of thing. You've earned my sub with that.
The dog hat on Garp looks so good to him I really like they included that too, yep Garp looks goofy but deadly if he's serious 😂😂 don't forget that he once threw a cannon ball with his bare hands 🤣🤣
There wasn’t really an agreement of “after I defeat you I get to take in your captain.” It was more just a statement of, I’ll accept your duel and afterwards I’ll do what I actually came here for.
FYI, Garp's hat in the source material is... cooler but also stupider? This is definitely an example of adaptation adjustment. But also you gotta keep in mind how tough someone has to be to wear that hat in public and yet still command absolute respect from his subordinates.
After your comment about the fishmen eating sea food I was like: Oh yeah, what if they get something like mad cow disease... Or the moral implications of eating someone from your own species... Ahtough that's more of a human made thing so And right as you appeared shaking your head at your statement I went like: Waaait a minute, fish eat other fish at the sea all the time, what is this lady talking about? lol
26:57 Well later on in the story, You'll see that most of the high ranking Marine officers spots an Animal Motif. Garp being a pitbull of sort. Also they did took quite some creative liberties in the character designs in LA as well. The main difference being Usopp's nose is Pinocchio like in the Anime and Sanji's is spotting an extremely curly eyebrows.
9:39 - THat logo....that's how Sanji's eyebrows look in the anime. They have a strange curl which is really hard to grow naturally. Nice they made reference to it here
Who is strong and weak isn't really set in stone in One Piece. Especially when devil fruits are involved, it is often just a matter of compatibility. You can think water versus fire, and that could go either way, depending on whether it is a bucket of water dousing a candle or that same bucket up against a forest fire. You can think rock-paper-scissors, and there will always be an outright advantage and disadvantage. And for that matter, bounties aren't exactly representative of strength, either. They can be quite representative, sure... but in the end, the World Government issues these bounties because of the threat these individuals pose. Is it just some small-time villages that are impacted in the middle of nowhere? Are they attacking and robbing marine bases? Do they not care about death tolls and just go ham with the bloodbaths, making the World Government seem like they aren't taking security seriously? These are all factors that will influence how high a bounty can become. (Btw, Mihawk's wanted poster / bounty weren't revealed in the manga at this point, which is also why his bounty isn't revealed in the live action and we instead got the 'BOUNTY RESCINDED' vfx. He is now their ally, after all. But it might be fun for you to theorize what his bounty would be had it not been rescinded...)
Hi Lex! Love your reactions! About the "dog" marine hat of Garp the purpose is not to look impressive. The thing is more simple. You'll notice that in the future.
16:51 : write on your book this part of the story Nami tell "The Noland's Story" because it's an easter eggs for Season 3 in the Live Action. 26:45 : The hat of Garp is way more better in the anime than this one and there is already someone else having the wolf hat in the Marine (way way way later). . I would have liked the show to mention it, that was Zeff's dream after he got stranded on that rock and that's why Sanji is so protective of it in the manga.
@@bluelight17 As much as i would have liked for more people to realize it, I'd rather them not spoon feed every nuances like this in dialogue. Its much more of a if you disect it, you can figure it out and i think that's the better way to go about it to add more depth to it than surface level.
@@ashonline77 i can agree with that. I guess that also would have mattered more if they did the Baratie arc like in the manga, when Luffy destroyed the platform around the restaurant, pissing Sanji off.
You probably realized at this point but Nami did save Luffy there. Tossing him into the sea near to a bar with many of his friends in it gives him much better chances than just getting eaten alive right there and then. She couldn't just tell Arlong to let him go, that'd look very sus.
First video from you that I got recommended. Whne you showed your notes I knew this is someone that is invested and taking this thing seriously. It would be a shame not to give your reaction a chance 🤣 Count me in
By lets say season 4, you will see the real test for Luffy at being a captain in Water 7 arc. Very intense emotional arc with different waves of storms hitting the crew both internal and external factors at play.
I'm not gonna act like ima expert at this show just because I recently watched the whole anime, but Luffy feels like that because Zoro is his first mate & think about what they've been through together too
Yeah because of pacing choices that had to be made for a live action show, you don't really realize the bond they have or how long he's been with luffy. In the anime because it takes so much time to get to this point, its easier to understand that.
yeah i missed it the first time as well. I started rewatching the anime to refresh my memory and just went past that arc and then saw a reaction to the live action and that's when i realized they said the story there..
Glad that you enjoyed this episode I know the next episode you will understand Nami. For the poll you said use the daddy everyone is right Mihawk is your daddy lol
33:14 Shanks, Buggy, Mihawk, Arlong In this poll we have: 2 of the 4 most powerful pirates in the current in-universe world, an underling of one of the most powerful pirates in the current in-universe world, and a random guy who used to be scary but ultimately doesn't even come close to approaching the level of clout the other three have. Iykyk
He wears a bigger, goofier version of it in the manga/anime. It’s meant to hide his identity. Oda did a one-shot trial version of One Piece (“Romance Dawn”) before the official one. Anybody who read it would have recognized Vice Admiral Garp as the grandpa immediately.
Plus Garp is world famous and a very big deal as a Marine. So, people would question why somebody like Garp would be chasing a nobody like Luffy. Knowing their names is an immediate giveaway.
We have to understand that Luffy is only 17 years old Right now. This is the first time Luffy is worried about losing a real friend like Zoro. And Nami is the adult Sister to Luffy she knows how the world works and how dangerous it is. And Buggy he is like the Han Solo of Star wars he can get away from anything by just talking. But also he is really Strong he doesn't know yet but also remember he is no evil just hurt on the inside by Shanks.
@@kingkazma-BANKAI You wrote: "This is the first time Luffy is worried about losing a real friend like Zoro" nothing about loosing a crewmate that he is responsible for.
@@Smido83 "so" you have problem with that. Calling zoro a friend and not crew and not being specific. Well if you do you can fix it no problem with that
Garp's hat in manga/anime is much more badass and brutal. Tuning it down was one of the very few unnecessary bad 'westernisation' decisions the LA showrunners did. Great show amyway.
