Hey guys, I'm trying some new things with the format in this video, as I am radically changing the beginnings and ends of videos. The intro I used to have of playing something related to the band on guitar or bass has become stale and according to my analytics, a lot of people would click off before the video even begun so that's no good. Doing those intros also became tiresome, so axing them outright is a win for pretty much everybody involved. Even, though they didn't start as such, they eventually just turned into a rip off of what Todd in the shadows does, and I can do better than that. Take it easy, party people. Dude they got rid of Bach because he blew his voice out ,,Did you not hear how he sounded around the time they got rid of him ? They had to , he could not even get threw the songs ..his voice was shot and needed alot to repair it . So I know 110% why they had to get rid of him and go for even something 50% of what Bach was ,,Yea when your band is in that spot ,,,you have to do something to save it . The signer from dragonforce ,,He can be good some nights and bad the next so i dont really know whats going on there

He didn't lose his voice during this era though. I know that last show they did with him at the monsters of rock was rough but it was the end of the tour. By that point he had been constantly touring for over a year.

The monsters of rock show in 96 I believe wasn't great. His voice was strained and he couldn't hold notes for very long. Which is acceptable considering it was the end of a year long tour, and he sounded better after that.

This album is massively underrated. These guys were getting heavier, and after touring with Pantera etc... That shit rubbed off. People unfairly lumped this album in with shit like Native Tongue. All those hair bands frantically grasping at straws to stay relevant after Nirvana... But I still truly believe 2 of "those" albums were authentic and fucking amazing. 1. Subhuman Race 2. Corabi Crüe Both are forgotten gems. The Crüe record was absolutely their best album. Gritty, bluesy as fuck, heavy... It has a maturity they were not capable of with Vince Neil. Coincidentally... Both were produced by Bob Rock. They were chasing Black Album vibes... Not Nevermind. It bums me out that Skid Row members talk shit about Subhuman Race. It's riiiight up there with Slave To The Grind.

"Rachel Bolan says the record absolutely sucks, have you even listened to Revolutions Per Minute?" Made me LOL so hard! SR is their best album, tuning down all the tracks to D apart from My Enemy, Into Another and Subhuman Race makes it sound even heavier! Was simply released at the wrong time.

I was a big Skid Row fan, up until b side ourselves... and then they just disappeared. I didn't realized a new album was out, nobody talked about it, I never saw a video or heard a song from that album on the radio. It took a few years for me to see it at a record store and by then it was a risky move to spend $16 on a cd you knew nothing about. Next thing I know they split and nobody cared anyway.

I don't consider sUBHUMAN rACE a grunge style album, as much as it was just a continuation of their effort to be heavier. Bob Rock was a the wrong choice for production, but they also probably felt that he was producing albums like the Black album from Metallica, which led to superstardom.

Skid Row was my favorite band back in the day and I have all of their original albums on vinyl but when Sabastian blow out his voice on Slave and then turned around and made a record with more screaming with Subhuman Race I think that really damaged his voice for good on never reaching those high note again. Did you know that Rob( drummer) voted against getting rid of Sabastian he knew that the band would never be the same if they did(and he was right) He seen the writing on the wall! Sabastian was 18 when he joined the band 21 when Slave hit number# 1 and 25 or 26 when he made Subhuman Race. How many of you were doing questionable things at that age? Whether Rachel wants to admit it or not Sabastian voice and beautiful face were what made that band(woman point of view)Bon Jovi took all the money they made from their first album that was Snake and Rachel fault that the rest of the band got screwed over Jon took advantage of them and didn't give them a kiss for F$%KING them!!! I don't ever think they will do a reissue of Subhuman Race since both Sabastian and Rachel hate that album.

Their debut was demoed, and unsigned as a result. He came on and they became stars. I almost always side with the guys that write. But in this case, the 'showman', 'star', whatever, is what brought them to the bigtime. His solo records are much closer to classic SR than any of their bullshit. But theyre content to play bowling alleys. In the day of the vinyl resurgence, the didnt do shit with the anniversary of the debut. Pathetic. It's a shame, cuz they're one of the few 'hair' bands that had the stuff to transcend away from that if they could get their shit straight.

Eileen was WAY before it's time. I have to disagree with you on this being the first release of the album. My favorite track, because it's so out there, 1995 was NOT ready for this. I played this album on repeat (in 1997) when I was in the navy and everyone I had contact with when this was playing, they were baffled, and thought it was just either too old or too weird. I actually thought this track was just haunting and beautiful. I actually named one of my cats Eileen in tribute to this song. Still one of my favorite songs ever.....Love Just another Gen X girl.

What I liked when skid row released the 40 seasons was they remixed sone sings from subhuman race and honestly compared to the original mix you can hear everything that was lost it’s just a shame they didn’t and won’t remix the whole subhuman race album I’d love to hear what it would sound like but on the other hand there’s definatly a 90s nostalgia when you listen to the original mix but it seems like it’s an album kind of frozen in time it’s neither going back or going foward in any way just frozen in that time period at least that’s what I think

First, many of the bands you mention in a negative light were and remain amazing players. I would put Reb Beach's guitar work (Winger) then and now up against every guitarist in the thrash genre or any of the forgettable crap that makes up "rock radio" such as it is anymore today. While even I admit I change the station when "Seventeen" comes on, Reb was a great player and Kip was an amazing musician. Bang Tango also was a funky sounding band and really had something a little different than the typical band of its ilk. Skid Row did have more balls than some of these acts. Rachel was, at heart, a punk rocker and Sebastian a screaming metal head. The mixture made the sound.

Dude, taking the piss out of Poison isn't the way to go. While today you have the luxury of looking back and judging them, when Skid Row's first album came out, they were considered in the same genre. This is why it's so hard for people who didn't live through this era to understand. Skid Row would be nothing is a band like Poison wasn't popular. And that's the truth. Nobody fucking cared about Monkey Business, mainstream wise. Because it was no longer like the mainstream taste.
@ScoopedMids

@@ScoopedMids Yes, Bret Michaels isn't a good singer by any means but he's a good frontman (which is what a glam metal band was really all about). Their lyrics got much better on the 3rd album same goes for the sound and ballads. Which I'm guessing you haven't checked out since you've got such a hate for them lol. Life Goes On, Something To Believe In, Life Loves A Tragedy are the best example of amazing ballads they got. It's fine if you don't like them but no way you can say these songs suck in any way. In fact, the whole album exept for a couple tracks are very good and under appreciated in my opinion.
