This Cajun Restaurant Has a Year-Long Waiting List

Great Big Story

In an unassuming building in Galliano, Louisiana, Alzina Toups makes some of the best food you’ll ever eat. But while her Jambalaya, fried shrimp and other garlic-laden Cajun staples are sure to bless your tongue and break your heart, they aren’t so easy to come by. Alzina doesn’t take walk-ins, and reservations-which book up a year in advance-can only be made by reaching her by landline.

You don't know what it feels like being a part of Cajun Country, and I couldn't be any more proud of my heritage and the people I'm surrounded by. @@moviesims183 We all serve a God. Ask where your time, energy, mind, body, and soul go to, who or what do you serve and why. Can what you experience and what you see be claimed as real? Do I exist? Do you only see what is real or do you question the reality you see itself. I see complex biological life and complex chemical compositions in a complex space, along with universal truths. To me this is proof enough, I see a watch...was the watch created? I see a rock...was the rock created? Complex reality cant be explained without a creator. Cause and effect, the answer to how but not why. Trust in God and devotion to his ways is a path to peace and understanding. As for what to trust and what to understand, you'll hear it if you listen, its etched into your heart. The problem is not listening, seeking, or understanding.

Some religions ask that you treat others the way you like to be treated, love thy neighbor, honor your parents? Does that sound like something you should do. Religion has a set of rules and beliefs, study both and discover answers to why. The teachings of God will lead you to discover who is God. Then you serve as a creation of God.

Now I get why she doesn't do walk ins. The restaurant would have been crazy full and hectic with people wanting to try her food. This way, she has a set amount of people to cook for each day and doesn't have to stress about hiring multiple staff or making dozens of different choices on a menu
