This Camera Is The Best Kept Secret! 

Yes the LX series, and its competition the Canon S series (S95, S100) and the same equipment on a larger body the G series (G10, 11, 12,15,16) were all fine cameras, before the advent of mirrorless cameras, giving similar capabilities of a DSLR for growing photographers that could get great photos under good or semi decent lighting. But like the author of this clip would have mentioned, all these cameras have now gone up in price online.

If a $100 cam is even on par with the newest greatest $1100+ S24 Samsung smartphone (and even that only sensor wise!) but the real optics (Leica in this case or Zeiss in Sony RX100 case) and handling is still way better and it's still a wobbling $1000 price difference, so unwise to even compare a camera to a smartphone.

The LX series of cameras have been some of my favorites of all time. Loved the LX3 and LX5's, upgraded over the years to the LX7's and we love them!

You know I've been hearing about this on smaller channels. I'm planning on getting the LX5 or the LX7 and making a video on it. The camera was ahead of its time when it came to the lens, sensor size and aperture. Hell the sensor size is bigger than the Iphone 14 and a little bit smaller than the S23. The fact that its comparable to flagship phones and consumer phones is wild. I think this is an amazing digicam for those who just want to do personal photography and slow down a bit. I love the look and I really love the specs for this camera

I owned one 15 years ago and sold it 3 years later, not realizing the quality of the color rendering and macro capabilities. Just bought one on eBay for EUR 75.- , so happy

In fact, my father gave me one similar to it. The problem is that I do not know where the charging port is, and my father did not bring me a charger with it.

as much as I like the LX3, I know that if I'm going to use a camera for a longer period of time, I would want a viewfinder at some point. And I don't want to carry around a camera with an integrated viewfinder because 1) all the compact cameras with EVFs are super expensive and the cheap ones with tiny OVFs are useless and 2) if my camera is cheap with an EVF, it's big and I have the hassle of carrying a large camera anyways. And if I'm carrying a camera I might as well use the best one, right? So to me the better option is the LX5 because it has access to the LVF-1. It's super small and tiny, but at least it's a viewfinder, you can tilt it which is nice and the user experience is pretty cool. And if I want it to fit in my pocket, I just have to remove it. Lens on the LX5 is also pretty nice, it's a 24-90mm equiv f/2-3.3 the additional reach is honestly pretty damn nice to have. I picked one up for 109€ on MPB recently and in my eyes, it's a superior camera. Still has that nice 10MP CCD sensor too.

I bought my LX5 last year and it always goes with me. Awesome Leica lens and super fun sensor. Colors are beautiful :)

Everything looks good when edited .Digital cams all have I common same look unless edited to make the photos like like film.
