When you show the faces in the end of the short, there is some bias. The middle face is an average of the extremes and people tend to pick images in the middle. What the authors should've done was put the faces in random order to see if it was truly the most attractive. Many studies get this wrong.

As a Japanese woman, I have an average of D and E type jawline with high cheekbones. I was made fun of it in my school. I always wanted to shave my jaw but then I came to know neck muscle exercises. I trained my neck and now my jaw fits proportionally on my face. I want all girls with wide jawlines to do the same.

The only way a person can pull off a wide jawline is by having high cheekbones, wide forehead and thick neck. Only then a wide jaw looks aesthetically pleasing!

Maybe I shouldn't have started mewing? The Botox sounds nice, but I heard it's only temporary. I've heard that fillers never "fade" or "dissolve" naturally, but that they migrate. Plastic surgeons don't like talking about it. So idk what to do
It's gotta fit with the features. Eyes nose & lips can be too small for the jaw. Lost of koreans get surgery to make smaller v line jaws but sometimes the nose then looks too big after it. The reverse can be said.
I have a wide, round face with a larger jaw. I’ve been insecure my whole life, and people always take notice. But many of those people actually compliment me, and the rest of my features would look strange on a slimmer face. I look at before-and-after pictures of jaw shaving and almost always think the before looks better. Unless people are “deformed”, their natural face shapes usually suit the rest of their features the best.
my mom used to cruelly call me EGGHEAD when i was a child! little did i know that my perfectly oval face shape is considered ideal but i soon found out when i grew up!!
I have an insane wide face. Some call it a moon face. Even with botox, it's naturally wide. My hair for the most part can hide it because I also have a narrow eye placement. But once I pull it behind my ears, I look jarring. It is annoying outside of aesthetics because I have to render my eye glasses to have the focal point be narrow while the frame itself needs to be wide
@@thanos8638 good question not sure of the height and width. But when I use the golden ratio mask, my temple and jaw area is wider than what fits the mask. Also when I had my head measured for my graduation cap, I was told I was at the upper limit for female head sizes

@@tara144 compared to her forehead. Jaws should be as wider as forehead. Her jaw is as wide as her forehead. That makes it look harmonious. However, it looks unnatural because she has a very high thin neck.

I think in the modern society they like the strong facial bone structure and those structured and chiseled faces. The preferred shape of face will depend on all other features. On myself, I like the elongated facial structure. I would prefer an elongated, a bit thinner and squarish at the same time chin on me as a woman. Type of like on Giulia Salemi, Madison Beer, Mariana Kalabin. Because I have a high nose bridge, larger features in general. I don't want a diamond shape of face or other.. I don't necessarily want width. But I definitely want the length, the projection of the chin
In my experience, Asian women in particular tend to look good with a wide jawline. It may be because they have neotenous features to begin with. It's kind of like how guys with super masculine facial features look fantastic with long hair. Make a feminine-looking guy grow his hair out, he will NOT look good with it.
Yes, you just go to a surgeon and tell them you want facial harmony and they will tell you what changes you specifically need to create that. Everyone is different so it varies by person

They will tell you what is ruining the harmony of your face, is it your nose, jaw, eyes, etc. They will try to fix it, and this is what creates harmony.

But isn't that in trend these days ,contoured jawline ,the model with a bob with her original jaw is absolutely stunning, I mean that's her distinctive feature that makes her stand out ,I used to have really chiseled jaw line when I was in my early teens and I used to hate it ,I still have a very well defined jawline but now I miss that chiseled one coz obviously I was really thin at that time so it was very prominent and contoured ,it took me years to embrace my own distinctive features

What about men? Because I like to think mine is an average of D and E but I do posses body fat. So maybe toning it down would work. Also I would like to ask my face shape. My forehead,cheekbones and jawline are of same(or almost) equal length. And my face is 1-2 inch longer in length but I think my chin is a bit pointy. What would my face shape be?
I have a pretty defined jaw, but I feel like my masseter is slightly more developed on the right side, is not super obvious but it’s there. I wanna get Botox there, just to even out but I don’t know if this procedure is for bigger cases, is it possible to put just a tiny amount for very slight asymmetry?
Have you tried facial massages of the masseter muscle on the side that's slightly hypertrophic. It does actually help if the asymmetry isn't too severe.
As a woman, I am fucked. I have these thick ass masseters, and I don't make enough to buy the treatments that reduce the muscles. Looks like acceptance is the only option lol
Ian's neck width is thick and proportional to the width of his jaws, while Luca's neck is way thinner compared to his jaws further exaggerating the flare of his masseters.
I actually know quite a few women who don't find Ian Somerhalder attractive, but I think it's more to do with his eyebrow and smile shape, rather than his jaw alone. They tilt upwards in a weird way that make him look evil lol
Guys, here is an important question to ask yourself before going in and shaving your bones or getting botox: what other features would look bigger/more dominant if your jaw gets smaller? If you have a prominent nose or wide mouth for ex, the wider jaw might fit you perfectly. Dont make huge changes without considering the whole face.
